Hello.

Well i'm wondering about the best way to read arrows, i can read a bunch load of arrows on SM like for instance, Rain of a Thousand Flames, i can read all that.

But once I step on the Machine, i flat out suck.

I mean, my stamina stinks, and im trying to work on it, don't know best how to but w.e

Even if i do like a 7 or 8 on DDR, i flat out suck, I just get so tired after it.

How are you suppose to correctly place your feet?

i'm sick of being a giant when i get onto the pad..

When I play, my feet never leave the pad. That is I wear slippery shoes and slide EVERYWHERE across the pad. My feet are never more than a quarter inch above the pad at any time, and this is a really stamina saver.

Also, I never hit an arrow with more than I need to hit it with. If I can hit the edge of the arrow with the tip of my toe or the back of my heel, I do it. You need some good, reliable sensors for this to work, but I maintain the machine I play on so it works pretty well.

Also, most of the time my feet are placed diagonally so I can hit all 4 arrows at once if need be. I'm a size 10.5.

QFT

I was watching someone play yesterday and he was pretty decent to the point where he could probably pass 9s, but his technique was super inefficient. He was basically bringing his feet up in the air so that his quads were parallel to the ground.

If you want to use minimal arrows, just hit the inside sensors with your heels for some arrows and toes for the others. It just depends on how you are positioned at different points of the song, obviously. I wouldn't really suggest sliding your shoes like Kaku says because you want good traction when you are playing; just move your feet as little as possible. Check out some full body or feet videos on youtube of good ITG players to get a better idea.

I had problems with footwork when i started ITG, but they sort of solved themselves somehow.

Because i was intent on playing faster songs, my feet would just naturally move less because i had to take smaller steps to keep up with the song (Determinator is a good practice chart once you get up to it, but just generally fast stuff that doesn't necessarily need to be stamina draining).

Sliding your feet = bad. Sort of.

Practice a lot. Get in better physical shape. Move less. Follow these three things and your game will get way better with time.

I'd just say pursue your personal style. I did all of Extreme and a lot of ITG on my toes for a while, and if you look at Kobayan in Japan, he did Faxx Doubles extra on his toes. So don't listen if somebody tells you something is impossible without heel toe (well, maybe One More Lovely are stuff like that, but you never know).

I would, though, suggest to videotape yourself. Energy conservation *is* important and I ultimately learned how to heel toe because it is a very effective method, and there are ways to pull it off to where you actually feel like you're working out.
