Topic.
I know Legend of Max, Max Period and Paranoia Survivor Max (heavy and oni) were on Extreme.
As of supernova, I know Fascination Max (heavy and oni) was added. Are there any other? |

Well I do, since I asked. I have no Supernova arcade in my neighborhood so I can't check out by myself. |

From what I can tell, Flashing 10s are special 10 foot rating songs. Not because they're nightmares beyond belief (like PSMO), but because they have a certain level of importance. PSMO because it's the hardest song, Legend of MAX because it's the Extra Stage boss, Fascination MaxX because it's SuperNOVA, and if FELM(O) are also flashing, then it too holds a level of importance in DDR.
The reason why I think this is because The Legend of MAX is not too far off the difficulty level compared to the other MAXs (being behind the level of difficulty with MAX300 SM3). And since the flashing 10s were introduced in Extreme IIRC, then it is kinda natural for them to do something special for their supposed last arcade game. So, being the extra stage it was, they decided to flash it up.
PSMO is flashed for it's difficulty over The Legend of Max, making it a song harder than the extra stage, which was unheard of until then.
Max. (Period) is probably flashed for the very same reason. It's difficulty over TLoM.
For SuperNOVA, Fascination MaxX is a boss song (as well as FELM) for the Expert and All Music selections. I dunno if it's because they're nightmares in the form of a song, but whatever. _________________

The reason why I'm asking is I'm building a pack for Stepmania with every song from the Arcade version of Supernova (building well ... more like assembling). I want the flashing 10-footers to show as flashing 10-footers, so it's more for a sake of completion rather than arguing weither the flashing 10-footers are really harder than the other 10-footers. Although they seem to and people widely spread that opinion, the fact is that there are many answer to the "why?" question.
I was not starting another debate on that fact here, just asking which ones are. Thanks for your descriptive answer though.
P.S. : I agree with you though that the "flashing" is more of a tag than an actual difficulty rating. Elsewise, I don't know why PSMH and LoM received flashing rating and not HDVO. Following that thought though, do PSM and LoM still got flashing rating in SuperNova arcade? |

Flashing means nothing because it is completely inconsistent. Songs go from flashing, to non, to back, to non. I believe SuperNOVA doesn't even do the flashing.
Hell, SAKURA flashed in Festival. And now it's a 9. _________________

Very well, that is answering my question. I guess the flashing is used mainly to display boss songs. I checked yesterday and on Extreme 2, both Paranoia Survivor and Survivor Max were flashing 10-footers

On some themes, song with a foot rating higher than 10 will be displayed as a flashing 10-footer |

well, yeah... but not everyone uses one theme. it would show up as a flashing 10 on the SN theme (and other DDR themes), and an 11 (or whatever) on the DDR Extreme and ITG themes, and they're not 11's. _________________

I'm mainly buliding the pack for myself in fact. I might release it, but it wasn't my initial intention to do so. My intention was so that I could recreate a visual arcade experience and thus, I WILL be using one specific theme. |

Yeah. Back when PSMO came along people were like "OMFGBBQLOLWTF". |
Now its more like "Freaking deathrun..."
At least for me. For my friend jimi, its, "Stupid deathrun. I could FC it if I wanted too, but I hate that song..." |
