Pop'n controller made using fighting game-style buttons

Firstly, how much would I expect to pay for all the materials?
Secondly, will I be at a disadvantage to someone using a homebuilt ASC?

if you are using fighting style buttons, expect to pay about $60, that includes the buttons, wood, the controller, and the necessary stuff need... I think it would be better to use the actual buttons the arcade uses, they would be easier to hit because they are rounded out instead of in... the acutal buttons cost about $90 shipped from happ... i have the wiring diagram if you need it
