So I got a new PC and stepmania doesn't work right.

I used to have this really old piece of crap. I swear it could barely run stepmania but it did even in sync too. Well I got my PC from my storage unit where it had been and it's way better even though it's outdated. My new specs are:
Windows XP
AMD Athlon 2400+ (~2.0GHz)
ATI Radeon 7000 VE
512 MB DDR 2700 RAM

Here's the problem I've downloaded stepmania on this PC i just got form storage. I try to play but get all off beat because either the arrows are delayed maybe .15 of a second or the song is off sync with the step chart.

I was thinking maybe the video card isn't fast enough to produce the arrows before the audio part gets to certain point and I go with the beat and hit the arrow only to be off sync with the step chart. I know the step charts are good too. I also had Windows 2000 on my old PC. Do you think a new OS might have screwed it up? How can I fix this problem.

It just sounds like you have to resync your machine. Play a song and hit F6 twice (it should say AutoSync Machine) play the song, and it should be fine.
