I am also posting this in the adapter thread.
OK, so I bought a 360 months ago and I have wanted to play the DDR UM mixes on it. I was not sure if:
A) the games were compatible with the 360
B) is it possible to use the Innex or Gemini PS2->Xbox converter on my CF to play these games? _________________

A USB converter might do the trick. Aren't the 360 ports all USB? _________________

Yes, but I thought I remember seeing somewhere that the 360 requires special hardware to read most USB devices, so I was not sure about the ability to use converters. I just found the XFPS xbox 360 converter http://www.mod-chip.com/en/xfps_360.php and it looks like it may work with the BNS USB converter I have with my Flux now. _________________

You need something like the xfps360 for now. You can't just plug in any USB device because each controller needs to have some 360 controller module in front of it. i.e. that 360 icon on the controllers that you can use to power on your system and keeps track of player id. |

They're universal alright, but the ones on the 360 don't speak the same language. Yet. |

The 360 ones speak the same universal language. They just have chips in the pads to make sure that they are genuine Microsoft authorized products. Best thing to do is buy Universe with the pad and mod the the softpad as a control box for the CF
ps. Ultramixes do not work on the 360 due to backwards compatibility. I doubt if they ever will. _________________

Does anyone here have a NEW CobaltFlux control box?
Our control box (for version 2 of the CF) bit the dust a few months ago, and the new one that we received from CF had a nice shiny USB port on it, in addition to being completely structurally different than the old control box we had. I have no idea if CF is shipping out new platforms with the USB compatible control boxes or not.
All of the information I'm reading regarding CFs and XBox 360 seem to be referring to the old control boxes here, and I'm wondering if anyone with a new control box with the USB port straight on it has tried connecting it to the 360.
When we first received the control box, we were a bit perplexed as to the purpose of the USB port, so we gave CobaltFlux a ring, and the chap that answered the call told us that the USB port's purpose was for compatibility with other systems, such as the XBox 360. No idea if he was speaking through his hat or not.
Additionally, we have connected the CF via USB to the computer and gotten it to work with the XBCD driver with the 360 addon, so I know that the control box is being recognized somehow.
I'd like to know for sure before we purchase DDR Universe.
Anyone? :/ |
