Anyone with a nexen (or any pad for that madder) know how I can fix this?
I need to replace the red wire, but It leads to a place I don't think I can access

here are the pics

Cords head down under the metal, I could possibly remove it, but It doesn't seem like its suppost to be removed

this panel is also irremovable it seems due to the type of screw heads

Is there another way to get to the cords?

Yeah, sounds like the ones that they generally have. On a tx1000, the best way to do it is to feel along it until you find the edges of the wood part of the base, and cut along there with a box knife, then feel the foam on the bottom for bumps. Everywhere you find a bump, scrape the foam off with something and then you should find a screw, then unscrew it. I'm thinking the Nexen is probably the same way. It seems like taking the base off is the only way to get the pad working like it should.

Hmm, well since it's not working No point in not trying that
I appreciate the advice E13.gif

Just in case though, before I go cutting away, anyone else know of any possible ways to fix this without potentially messing my pad up?

*update*

I was checking out the bottom of my Nexen today, and I'm almost positive it's a solid board underneath it. That being said, should I just cut away at this bored? There has to be another way....

Well, you can do what I did with my first tx1000, and just tear all the foam off. I'm certain it's either screwed or hammered to the rest of the pad.

Try not to tear away the foam around the metal edges though. That way, you can just put the baseboard back on when you're done and the pad will still have that foam floor-protector junk.

Good luck!

Why do you have to replace it? if it's broken, just find the broken spot and solder it

Yah, we'll see the damage 1st

quick question, if it was a complete wire replace, would wire from a cheep soft pad have the same resistance as the larger? would It work? or would it definenetally vary?

I don't think there's a way to get there, I felt around and I couldn't find one screw or anything, I'm almost positive it's just a solid board on the bottom.

The metal keeping it down however uses a screw that's impossible to get up, since it's not a real head. This is beginning to get extremely frustrating.

Hm. . . it sounds like they make the Nexens even harder to get into than tx1000's or AfterBurners. :/

I know what kind of screw you're talking about. I have no idea how to get one out though. I just know they're called carriage screws or something like that, and they're used for things that will (hopefully) never need to be opened up.

What it sounds like is that they attached the baseboard from the top, and you'd actually have to tear the pad apart to get to the screws that hold it in, and those might turn out to be impossible to get out as well.

Damn, I'm out of ideas, man. D:

Yah, I appreciate the try though

I'm thinking maybe I'll just try to sell it on ebay for super cheep and someone out there can fix it and play it

that or tear the pad up like crazy

Well, it's worth a shot. I guess there's not much else you can do with it at this point. It's a real shame that you can't get inside it though. :/

well today I took the pad apart and found the wire I was looking for
I completely replaced it and put the pad back together and It seemed I had fixed the problem

Only thing is now i'm getting so many pad misses and ghost steps I can't even pass an 8 step song without missing nearly 10-15 arrows

I basically done with this horrid pad, I'm going to try and just sell it on ebay for ~100

Thanks for all your help guys
