I'm not sure where the appropriate place for this is, nor if something like this has been done already, but here goes...
Any of you notice things that you subconsciously do while playing? For example, I noticed, from watching a recent DDR vid I made of myself, that I always seem to keep my right hand clenched, and my left hand's fingers will "twiddle" to the music.
Discuss your quirks here |

I'm not sure I have any "quirks" that only I do. I know when I do repetitive gallops (such as in Orion .78 Civilization Mix with the gallops) I tend to tuck my arms into my body for some reason. However, I did know of a couple of kids who did some very, VERY, strange things.
1) This guy Andrew who used to play in Fun Zone on LI, this is the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life as far as DDR quirks. While playing, he would also play on his fingers. He would literally keep his right hand in the same position and step out the arrows with his fingers like he was playing StepMania, while at the same time playing on his feet.
2) Someone else would always stick their tongue out all the way whenever they would jump or gallop. _________________

I do something similar when I'm putting a lot of effort into a song. I end up literally shoving my tongue into my bottom lip, almost as if it'll help me beat the song... |

I haven't noticed it myself, but all my friends insist that I never blink while playing.
I've gained another quirk recently, but I've been trying to stop. I've noticed that as I play more intensely, I involunarily make a thumbs-up gesture on my hands. _________________

I always have my mouth open when I play. Yeah, obviously it's for breathing, but it is something done subconsciously.
I don't flail my arms around when I play no bar, a feat which seems to be pretty uncommon nowadays. In fact, I often keep my arms perfectly stiff-still to my sides.
I tend to lean on the bar whenever I play with it using both hands. _________________

Sometimes in faster songs my hands will start dancing, and sometimes in double mode I have to swing my arms around to keep my balance while doing something like switching between pads. _________________

I generally breathe to the beat in 8th/16th runs. Also, any triplets I usually say"Trip- pul- let" out loud. _________________

During gallop streams (like in Tsugaru) or for slower songs, I put my hands in my pockets or fold them behind my back _________________
