I'm looking for a metal ddr pad on ebay and alot of the ones that show up are the ninja metal ones. Are those any good? If not, then what are some goods that are between $100-$200 range?

First of all buying pads off eBay probably isn't the smartest thing to do because they'll rip you off on the shipping so you can't get a full refund. Second of all, the Nexen is made of much better materials and is built to last. The Ninja will probably break after frequent Heavy/Expert use. Mymybox Nexen

Pkey, Well atm Im looking at a lot of metal pads, and the nexon is on the list, and I agree that off of ebay isnt the best place to get anything but, If not from there, where? I havent seen anywere else to get a pad from?

Is there any place special I should be looking?

Maybe EBgames?
Or....?

I don't know of any game store that actually sells DDR metal hards in real life. Atleast, Not anymore, I know Toys -r- us had some "intec arcade dance platforms" $100, but they are crap. don't get one.

If I was you, Either go with MyMybox nexen, or Blueshark (IF you can afford it) or a CF pad.

There are actually several Mymybox stores in the US where you can buy their pads. http://www.mymybox.com/wheretobuy.html

If you can't go to their official store, your best bet would just be to order it off their site because you'll be protected under their warranty, etc., etc.

Wow, I live 30 min. away from the Downers Grove store O_O. Suddenly I'm leaning back towards a BS/Nexen.

Thanks for the link Darkcore, I would never have thought to check for any nearby stores.

Edit - nvm. I just figured out that they listed Frys, and I'm guessing a retail store isn't going to carry anything like a Blueshark.

Ninja pad=TX pad

The new TX pads are atleast decent in quality so they won't break immediately. My TX4000 is soon 1 year long and still kicking. It had to be rewired though few months ago.

Don't pay more than $120 for a tx, it'll break. You can probably get two on ebay like I did and scrap one, then use the parts to make a decent pad. (and you'll have a spare CB, chip, 6 replacement panels, and a spare frame that makes a great steel drum.

Not really.....I always play on heavy mode, it has been about half year, it still works perfectly.
The good thing is I bought it from eBay but the seller put the pad in the wrong box(I was paying 74$ for TX1000.... But I got a nija laugh.gif

You lucky poopy.
I paid $146 for a couple tx's, and I haven't gone a month without having to fix something, and I recently had an entire arrow panel fly off the pad while I was playing a 9-footer.
What difficulties do you play and how frequently?
'cause my tx's were fine 'til I started playing 9's and frequently. (1-5 hours/day)

I usually play around 8-footer .... Max300 is too hard for me, I only finished it twice in my life.
When I got it in the summer, I pretty much played it everyday about 1~2 hours. Now I only play once or twice a week, cuz I got work from school frown.gif

Hm. . . have you opened them up at all?
'cause the Ninja pads might just use better wood, or better wiring, or a better foil job. (the tx's have 2 strips of the cheapest aluminum foil on the planet.)
