Hi my old controller that came with my eBay Dance mat died a few days ago. I have the dance pad with the 9 pin serial adapter. So I decided to rewire the floor contacts to a new USB game controller. Well it works, however, at times the controller will lose connection or just get confused. I know for sure it is not a bad connection. My hunch is the game controller can't handle the input??? In order to get it working again I have to unplug/plug back in the game controller to the USB port. Now in re-wriing this thing, I've learn some basic limitations of game controllers and I've made sure I've got it so two buttons can be pressed at once, etc. during play. It really does work well except for this minor problem.
Any suggestions? I'm about to purchase an another soft pad off of eBay to use it's electronics if I cannot make this work.

Solved the problem. I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a $14.00 gamepad and re-wired it. If anyone is interested in doing this, it isn't very hard to do if you know some basic soldering skills- anyone can solder.
The unit I purchased was a RECOIL GGE909 by Profiler software. This one was the easiest to take apart and solder wires to. There are ribbon cables inside so you easily solder to wires versus the circuit board.
