| Why not have some funcional difference between beginner and light members? How about not letting beginner members post hyperlinks in their posts? Irealize you couldn't stop then from posting a URL, but at least they couldn't make links to their stuff. They're bots anyway, so they wouldn't know to reformat their post. |

| I say we quit caring about spambots, and just delete their topics. It's not a HUGE problem that stops the forum from functioning. |

You mean like the limit on new posts / replies a beginner can make?

That makes a difference for human spammers / invasions, but I don't see how that does anything for a spambot. |

Actually, I've come up with something kinda like this, and we're mulling it over in the private board right now. If I can manage to get off my ass this week, we might have the problem fixed in a pretty good way.
