Beatmania IIDX 12:Happy Sky CS Discussion

I'm going to import a Beatmania game for the first time, and it's definetly going to be Happy Sky when it comes out.

I've been tainted by Beatmania U.S., so I don't know much about the other styles of Beatmania besides the songs that are on them. Happy Sky doesn't have 3 difficulty levels like the U.S. version?

It doesn't matter what Happy Sky has. It's that with each new beatmania IIDX game that gets out, the difficulty progressively gets harder. Anyone who wishes to attempt the IIDX series is advised to start at 3rd Style and go up from there.

If this guy has BMUS then he shouldn't have a problem moving on to 12th syle. I don't get why people are always like "the new styles are too hardcore for you, play this one that is completely impossble to obtain without pirating instead".

uh.. whats so "difficult" about a new style?
It's just the Happy Sky AC songs. Oh noes, play on L7. I got to passing 5s-6s in like.. 1 day when I started playing. Any console version is fun on L7, because it isn't hard.

And if I remember right, there are songs as easy as RED ZONE on there, and RED ZONE is easy as crap.

Go ahead and get it, man. It's going to be awesome. I ordered RED a few days ago.

Well, passing most 5 and 6 star songs within your first day of playing are exceeingly rare, and usually have more to do with inate skill/piano experience than Light7 being easy.

If you have BMUS and you can pass a good number of 4 star songs on Light 7, go ahead and make the jump to pretty much any style you want. A bulk of the songs on Light 7 are in that range, so you shouldn't have any problems with making a transistion. From the revival list, Happy Sky seems to have a decent amount of 3s, so the speed-bump of going from Beginner to Light 7 might not be as bad as it was in 6th style.

And newer players should be getting their hands on 7th more so than 3rd. Better interface, smoother gameplay and a learning curve that's almost as good as 3rd or 5th. Plus it should be more available, as opposed to 3rd through 6th. Should you get more into IIDX and you want to pursue it a bit more, 3rd is a *must* have, just for the extensive songlist that hasn't been completely picked apart by revivals. m-flo for the win people.

Finally, I can hear "I am Beatmania! You are Whatmania?!" It's just too bad it comes out near Christmas, when I'll be wanting all the Wii stuff.....Maybe I'll get HS someday....
