I wanna get one, but I'm not convinced enough. It looks like you step on a cushion with arrows on it. Is that supposed to be good? I mean, to me, its like I save more energy when I step on a hard surface, like a metal pad. But I guess its probably because I use my shoes.

Does anyone recommend it? If so, can you list some of its pros?

P.S. Sorry if this post was kinda weird. I've been working all day, I cant think right. frown.gif

Thanks alot guys! thumb.gif

well foam is better than non-foam soft pads by A LOT

they dont' scrunch up, they dont' move as much (they still move though), they're more durable, etc.

i really recommend going from non-foam to foam. i saw a huge improvement in my play when i switched E1.gif

Foam pads usually don't feel right when you're playing on them. They're pretty much just a pad for people who have decided they're never going to get a good pad and they want something easier on their feet than a (modded) soft pad.

actually my foam one is just temporary until i get a metal pad (probably CF). it is a huge step from non-foam soft pads though. my old non-foam pad was completely unplayable.

Damn, I need to play tens. Is a modded softpad better (for tens)?

i got a foam pad off ebay and i passed every max song in the US PS2 mixes on it about 6 months ago. I would say there definitely worth it if you can afford metal pads(like me), but i would look into the BNS fusion pads on buynshop.com instead of going with ebay. I hear they're the best out right now.

I don't think i've ever got above a C on any 10 footer on a softpad or foam pad. Maybe a B in bag or Sakura... I need the "bounce" of shoes on a surface.

I got loads of B's on Sakura and almost an A a few times. And its not that hard to pass PS, with a softpad. But I know what you mean about the bounce.

Actually, the other day, my friend got a GameStop softpad, and I was pretty amazed. It barely slipped at all and it was responsive and everything. It was only $20, but I'm worried about durability which is why I want a foampad.

Maybe I should get the foampad, then mod it.

I wouldn't get that kind of foam pad. The foam inside looks crappy. I've seen more durable foam pads on eBay.

I used two of the exact same pads:

for my DDR club at the camp I worked at and I was surprised.

All the heavy mode work and newcomer/n00b abuse and it lasted 5 out of the 6 weeks perfectly. Some problems now, but still working (I did well using them for Standard/Heavy doubles and A'd for the first time MAX 300 Single Heavy on it).

I guess it depends on pot luck when you have them, and when using them.

Travelsonic>>>Really?
They don't look like they are made very well.

I saw an auction on eBay that compared this kind of foam to their 'more durable foam'. It looks like a pretty decent foam pad. I'll get a picture.

Compare that to the foam in the first picture.
