I just bought one of those crappy foam-insert Ignition pads, and returned it a few days after. And after reading a bunch of stuff here, I think it'd be best to just mod a pad on my own. So I'm wondering what brand of soft pad would work best for modding. I assume, using the foam-insert type wouldn't work because you have to zip it up. So could anyone suggest the best brand soft pad? Hopefully something I could pick up at Best Buy/EB? Thanks

Hmm I figured that'd be the case. But after looking online, no one seems to sell the pad alone, in particuliar BestBuy/EB. Any suggestions? Man...I don't want spend 60$ on a bundle, when I'm gonna be using it with Stepmania anyways.. boom.gif

ummm...to be serious, i modded a Beat Pad by Mad Catz with some wood, that no-slip stuff for drawers, piece of cardboard, some duct tape and a plastic cover, for like 30 bucks laugh.gif . I had it for about 3 years. It worked fine, but alot of people hated it. I guess i got lucky with mine, but reinforced it ALOT to improve the sensitivity of the arrows with cardboard. But idk how it would work on PC

I modded my plain Konami softpad (the one with no anti slip on the bottom). It's been working great for the week that I've had it for.

You can buy just the pad here.

You could spend the money on the bundle and then sell the game on eBay. There are lots of people that'd rather buy a game on eBay then anywhere else
