|

I've been out of the loop for a couple years and have come back to playing DDR, now on the PS2 and arcade. I used to play using Stepmania 2-3 years back but I quit due to, among other things, frustration with the gap/timing.
My problem was, the system you were running SM on and the pad/connector you were using to play (especially the connector) dramatically affected what the correct "global gap" value should be. Add to that the problem that many stepfiles out there didn't have correct individual gaps.
The old solution to these problems was to manually adjust the global gap and the gap of every single stepfile, or at least the ones that didn't have perfect gap values already. If you had a really good ear and skill, this wasn't too bad, but if, like me, you lacked these things the task was impossible regardless of effort.
So, in the years I've been away, any new/better solutions for people who can't manually adjust individual song gaps? An auto-gap fixing feature? A reliable database of correct gap values? Something I haven't thought of? I'd really like to go back to playing DDR on the PC due to the thousands of songs available, but having timing issues ruins the game for me. Thanks. |

why can't you just autosync the songs? afaik thats the only way to do it other than editing the offset manually. _________________

Autosync? That's the sort of thing I was asking about. Back when I used SM there was no autosync feature, or at least one that worked. Is there an autosync now that works really well? |
