I think its because if they were all the same color it would be harder to read when there's a fast passage of a lot of arrows. So it makes them easier to tell apart and read. |

Assuming you're playing on Note on some home version, Yellow is a 1/16 note, Green is a 1/32 (I think they're green, at least). If it's StepMania, Green is a 1/64 note. If you're talking about those colors in the stepcharts on this site, Green is supposed to cover notes that are not 1/(2^n) notes. _________________

She was wondering because I was playing Orion .78 (Civilization mix) on controller (Sprained ankle) and she has seen yellow arrows before. |

If you're talking about Orion, I believe a green arrow is a 32nd, due to the triplet/24th/whatever glitch. _________________

About the whole green/teal thing, check this out.
If there is any confusion, it makes sense. In Stepmania's stepchart editor, all the corresponding times go with the corresponding color of the little add arrows tool, in other words, 4th is red, 8th is blue, 12th purple, you know the drill.
..Until you get to 48th and 64th where someone screwed them up. When you want to add a 48th note, the add arrow tool is green, so you would think that 48ths are green, but they appear teal. Likewise, when you wish to add a 64th, the add arrow tool is teal, however 64th notes are green.
It also doesn't help the confusion factor that ITG's 64ths are in fact teal, so sometimes I get royally mesed up. _________________

Also, the add arrow tool for 192nd notes is some other shade of blue, but they too appear as green. _________________

Yeah, but those are yellow-green, as opposed to lime green. _________________
