I have been on google for an hour and I can't find any pics.
I am wokring on a new design for a homepad, and I am looking for how the soft pads work (The flimsy dance mats that you get a your game store for 20$).
Basicly, I just want to know if I can disasmble a soft pad and use the censors from the pad.
Or will you destroy everything by ripping the pad open?
(I hate being new on forums...) |

it's possible, but it would be incredible hard. A soft dance pad works like this; you take 2 cencors and sandwich a thin piece of foam with holes in it. So, each sencor(when pressed) will go through the wholes and it will trigger a responce.
Thats how soft dance pads work. so, by CAREFULLY removing the whole sensor-foam-sensor deal from a soft pad, you could place it anywhere as long as its still attatched to the control box(the little box on top with a cord coming out).
Personally, i'd say if you plan on making a pad, just make some makeshift pad using foil contacts and wood. _________________

and fyi, when pressed, the sensors on the soft pad don't make a zero resistance connection. it just decreases the resistance, which triggers a signal to the control box.
i'd strongly recommend you not to use the soft pad sensors...they wear out pretty easily. |
