|
|
Ok- I've been playing DDR for a while, and I love it- but I've got a problem. In the past year, I've killed 2-3 of the crappy, soft DDR pads. So I finally went out and bought one of the padded foam dance pads. This also, died (I'd like to note, these are all 'Gamestop' brand DDR pads.
So finally, after being DDRless for nearly 5 months, I've decided enough is enough. I'm going to purchase a metal pad.
I've got a few in mind- but as of right now, I'm stuck. What I'd REALLY like to get is the Red Octane Afterburner- but that seems a bit too pricey for me. So after surfing around a bit, I found these two-
The 'Flame DDR Metal Pad' -> http://www.keepgaming.com/ddr/Flame-Metal.htm
And the 'TX-1000' ->
http://www.hartsunlimited.com/psps2dapame.html
So I'm wondering- does anyone know anything about the 'Flame' pad mentioned above? I read the Review for the TX-1000 on the DDRFreak mainpage- and it says it's a good pad, but the sensor range is kinda small. Is the Flame pad any good? How does it stand up to the better pads like the RO Afterburner or the CF? Should I just get the TX-1000?
Any sort of a response greatly appreciated! Thanks guys . Rock on \,,\'

Edit- I just found this thread about the TX-4000 http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=111980&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20
From what people are saying- it seems like a real sturdy pad- better than the TX1000. Any opinions on this particular pad? |

You aren't going to get many positive posts about the TX-1000. I mean, I've got one and its solid (definately worht the $60 I paid) but some people have just had horrible experiences with them breaking quickly and stuff. |

Ah- ok. The board I'm really starting to concider now is the TX-4000. It's cheaper than most, but seems sturdy, and stable. It makes me angry though that Play-Asia won't ship it to the US <_<. They're the cheapest. Know of any places with good prices that won't try to kill you on shipping? |

Get an arcade-modded CF or a Blueshark. None of the other pads seem worth it. _________________

Why would I buy a CF if I can't even afford the metal Red Octane pad?! And as for a Blueshark- hell no. That's made by MyMyBox, right? I've seen multiple people here that have said that MyMyBox is a terrible company to order from. Their customer service is horrid.
I think I'm going to stick with the TX4000. I've seen a couple nice deals off of Ebay, in which I can get the pad, AND have it shipped for around $150. And also- alot of people around here seem pleased with them.
Thanks anyway. |

DONT get an Afterburner. I read a post that his pad was made with rusty metal and it wasn't that great. _________________

if you think mymybox is worse than redoctane, you are so wrong.
My friend got an afterburner. It didnt work so he asked if he could send it back to get a new one and so they said ok and that they'll send him a forum to put on a box to ship it.
about a month passes, and he calls and they say they're out of the forums but will get him one ASAP. So about a week later he gets one, but RO keeps sending him them for about a week.
He sends the pad back late febraury/early march. Many months pass. He e-mails them, calls them, and they say they never got the pad.
In late may, to his suprise, an afterburner comes with a dented corner.
THe pad itself works fine, its just it's not worth the $250(after shipping). OVerall, after hearing his blueshark story, he really is getting a decent deal(they're letting him get the new 3-in-1 control box, keep the PS2 control box, AND giving him a $50 rebate).
I think RO is the worst company for customer service. _________________
