I thought they would for sure have them in SuperNova, but I guess they didn't. They have to sooner or later for all the people who can pass everything and AAA no problem. I just hope they do it soon to.

I'm about 100% sure Konami doesn't care. PSMO/FaxX would be considered 11s though. People who have AAA'ed everything just moved on to ITG.

I'd like to see some 11 footers. All the 10 footers that are available to me currently are either already too easy, or becomming easy at a fast rate. Besides, if they want to stand up to the competition (ITG) in the future, it would be wise to add some 11+ footers. I'd also like to see a few hands thrown in, because I LIKE hands.

EDIT: 1337th post! WOO!

I would like to see mines or hands in DDR but I don't think there is anyway Konami can add them without seeming like they ripped the idea off of ITG.

Will we see hands: Maybe in the distant future
Will we see mines: Probably not

QFT. As someone already hooked on ITG (lots of hardcore DDR fans are), getting a lot more harder songs is the only way I'm going to stay interested with DDR. Konami can't just neglect their hardcore fanbase.

Mines looks like a more viable option considering they included a type of them in Mario Mix.

i dont know if konami could get away with adding hands though. Especially because of the lawsuit, saying that ITG "ripped off of DDR in every way", and then adding hands, would be very hypocritical.

but yes id like to see them. also if DDR had more mods. the fuwa fuwa and brake, only seen in missions and trick oni, should be added to spice things up.

bringing long mixes, or at least longer songs in the game would help.

even better if they made another mix that could hook up with beatmania.

Personally, I would love to see DDR's rating scale expanded to 13 or higher. It would make the game a lot more difficult and fun. And it would be funny to watch all the DDR fanboys cry about how their game was now more like ITG.

But they are neglecting it, as evidenced by DDRSN. I was hoping Konami would really make use of the Challenge difficulty, but they didn't.

Many of your points fail:

- Hands: Every played Solo? There are a few instances of 3 arrows at a time. Also, PIU was more known for hands before ITG was ever even thought up.

- Mods: Easily addable to an arcade machine (read: Extreme) with a disk hack.

- Long versions: Hello 5th Mix.

- beatmania hook up: Honestly, how many IIDX machines exist in the US that would be worth it to support a new mix? DDR is dead in Japan and IIDX is nearly nonexistant in the US.

As per 11s in DDR: I don't see it happening. The game is fine on its own with the 10 (and 10+) rating. I find that anything over that kind of rating (on 4-panel) is a little excessive. If ratings go any higher, I would expect it to apply to doubles only.

If you care about the actual difficutly of the songs, then yeah, DDR already does have 11 footers. If the little number next to the feet or the amount of blocks on the song select screen is what's important to you, then no, I don't think DDR will ever have 11 footers.

I'm pretty sure all "hands" in solo mixes were designed for two feet, where one foot hits two arrows.

I could have sworn I posted in this thread earlier.....

Odd...well, I say what I thought I said.

DDR essentially has 11's, though Konami will probably never display more than 10 feet for any song. Sure, they'll have an ambiguous flash that has controversy among the DDR community as to whether it denotes an 11 or not, but they'll never actually assign a song as a true 11.

Unfortunately for Konami, they've already made 11 foot charts. PSMO and PSMO doubles are not 10's just as Sakura is not a 7 (This argument only applies if you know your rhythm game history. If you think I'm a noob for calling Sakura a 7, hold your tongue because some hardcore player will flame you.) Max. and FaXX also easily fall into the 11-foot range.

Unfortunately for new-to-passing-10's players, a song like Sakura or Chaos looks exactly the same in difficulty as Fascination Maxx, PSMO, or Max.

Yeah, too bad they're not even close. DDR essentially has 11's. Many people will count the feet and disregard my post because their count only went up to 10, but I stand that the reason they are 10 is because Konami will never rate anything higher than that no matter how hard it gets.

I guess I'm the only one who remembers Spinal Tap and therefore finds this discussion amusing.

"Why don't you just crank up the 10"

"Because this one goes to 11"

Oh yes, I remember Spinal Tap. I'm in a rock band, it is required viewing.

I don't see why folks get so hung up on numbers. Actually, for some folks I suspect it's a matter of saying "hay I past a 11." They could restructure ratings into Pop'n numbers for all I care; when someone says they SDG'd PSMO I will know that it was hard, no matter what number it is.
