Can we knock this shit off? One of the great things about having a discussion is that if the person who initiated it doesn't want to talk about it, they can let it be and go away, yet other people can still continue the discussion. Unless the OP has some sort of claim over the thread (they're leading a game, for example), they don't really have any claim over the discussion, do they?

If I start a thread about pot and people are talking about pot, who am I to say "okay, you guys have to stop talking about pot now because I want the thread locked"?

http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=117616

I posted this and someone posted,"Who gives a poopy".

How people going to have a good discussion if this leads to flaming ?
Others might think that the topic is good , just bc you dont like it doesnt mean we all wont.

I think if you think the topic sucks, then dont reply to it . Keep your FxxxIN' finger off the reply button.

I think if your not talking about the topic , it should be whore posting or out to get someone.

I admit that I posted things earlier last night. but at least, I admit to it.

I think if you are not not posting on topic, then you shouldn't be posting in the topic at all. Post whoring and "out to get someone" are really no excuse for posting off topic.

Here's my question...

If anyone can get their own thread locked by just PMing a mod, then why not just allow us to lock our own threads like in the Marketplace forum, and so that way we don't have to bug the mods?

Has there ever been a time when a user requested their thread get locked and a mod said "no" ?
