Ok, long story short: I got a CFlux from a friend who had it for quite a while. It's a V2 so it's got the Control box seperate from the pad. When I got it I cleaned it and made sure each arrow worked. The minute I would step off the center arrows either stopped working alltogether or sometimes they would work, sometimes not. While applying weight to the center it was WAY more often that it would work very well. In fact it was rare that it wouldn't work correctly in that situation. I opened it up and saw the cardboard in the center was taken out but didn't really understand why. My question is, why on earth would applying weight to the center panel make it so the rest of my pad worked? I gotta find a way to have weight be constantly applied while I play I suppose. |

This sounds similar to an issue I had, but... in reverse.
For me, stepping on the center panel caused my pad to cease functioning. Had to do with the grounding wire (purple) needing to be taped down, your problem may be related to the grounding wire as well so you may want to check that out. Make sure to e-mail their tech support too, they're really great even outside of warranty. _________________

well indeed I found out that I need to have the connection of both the center sheet metal and the base sheet metal to be touching at all times (completing the connction). That's not really a big deal as I bent the center plate inwards enough so that it always touches. Now my next problem is that when playing a song on heavy I'll be hitting one arrow but another will go off every now and then. Any given 9 footer that I can AA (Kakumei or Rythem and Police for example) I'll end up getting B's and C's. The only reason for it is because hitting up will sometimes trigger down, or right or sometimes left. Random triggers will happen with any given arrow so it's not just one type of trigger. I think that particular problem is Cbox related. At least I would assume so. |

well, CFluxes are set up like so:
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
under the top right hand corner of each number is a wire. That wire is what sends the signal to the control box and the control box determines which wire is which for which button. You step on what is essentially a thin piece of sheet metal (which is quite strong and high quality too) and that sheet metal presses down onto a thick base metal. Now, under the thin sheet metal ontop (what you're stepping on) are 4 velcro dots. those velcro dots are then placed onto the bottom base metal where there are 4 recieving velcro dots. This holds the sheet metal (arrows) in place. Now, under the top right hand upper corner velcro dot of each panel (all 9 including center for pump it up players) is the wire going from the panel to the control box. This means there are 9 wires total, one for each arrow and each non arrow panel. The wires get a completed signal when you step down on the arrow (because the sheet metal arrow is touching the base metal completing the connection to the wire, thus telling the Control Box that the arrow was just pushed). Since all the wires are coated in plastic and all go to their own place and are all seperated completely only to be joined into the circuit board in the box, it shouldn't be mistaking one arrow press for another.
Thus, this is why I'm confused
edit: ok I saw that you made your own metal pad. I realize that you probably know all of that info already =P my mistake. But, seeing as how you did indeed make your own, can you make sense of my problem with my CF? Perhaps you ran the same type of wiring setup. |

I had to turn off controller 1 in the options menu....
for the love of god do I feel stupid. That cleared up any erratic arrow issues I had. Sweet jesus lol. Aside from that, I still need to keep that center pressed down so I gotta work out a better way than I currently have for it. |
