I downloaded a bunch of stuff thats supposed to be for SM but its all in the .torrent format and I don't know what to do with it all.

First of all, Google it (I cannot stress this enough. It's just common sense).
Next, find a bittorrent client and download their program (I prefer BitComet).
Before you ask any more questions, read this to understand what bittorrent is all about.

it IS software for downloading stuff.

.torrent files are empty, they're just directions to where on the internet a torrent file can download something. People use them because they're faster (usually) than downloads especially if a lot of people are downloading the same file and they leave their computer online after they've finished downloading.

DDRUK has bittorrent. I use it all the time, and it works. You just have to get software to open the files.
