|
|
I don't understand how Riptide setup the base for his pad. I' thought he cut some of them in half but I really have no clue
Does anyone have a diagram for the 2x4 layout because i want to start screwing my 5 non-arrow panels soon. If not, can anyone at least give me the dimensions to cut the wood? |

The base is 33" by 33". It's a perfect square. Then the 33 in. long 2x4s go horizontally so all the corner solid panels have an equal amount of 2x4 under them and the middle panel fits perfectly in the center. I forgot the exact measurements that I used to spread out the horizontal 2x4s, but I'm sure you can figure that out.
ps: I just finished wiring all of my pad. All I have left is soldering to the controller, getting some sweet graphics, and throwing on a bar, and I"LL BE DONE _________________

Like you said the 2x4's are 33" long, but did you ever need to cut any of them in half? How many did you use?
Also, take pics soon, I want to see what your pad looks like |

you cut the 2x4s in half after you have the solid panels in. they are the ones that form the arrrow wells. _________________

Check out this pic for a second, I think I'm beginning to understand
http://www.digitaltorque.com/mydancepad/?display=1%20-%20solid%20panels%2Fddr001.jpg
So the 2x4's on the way left and way right are full size and go from the very edge to where the red line is. Then, the two inner 2x4's get cut in half where that black line is?
If that is right, I will be eternally grateful . How's your pad coming along by the way? Did you ever get those lights in |

Yeah, that pic is right, except on his riptides videos, the full 2x4s are horizontal, not vertical, but I don't think it matters.
I'm gonna try to explain this better. after you have the solid panels in, under each arrow will be a pit but with only 2 sides (the full 2x4s). the open sides lead to under a solid panel or the edge of your pad. simply fill those 2 sides under each arrow with a
1.75" x 1.5" (which is a piece of a 2x4 cut verticaly. In case you didn't already know, 2x4s are not actually 2" x 4". They are exactly 1.5" x 3.5" .) I hope you COMPLETELY understood all that _________________

Holy $h!7 I finally get it now
I haven't screwed the sheet metal into the wood yet so I didn't have a chance to layout (really, I have hardly any work done ).
Thanks again guys, don't go anywhere though because it won't be long before I screw something else up lol. |
