DISCLAIMER : ive only been a member of the forums for 5 hours probably, and have only lightly browsed the forums. so if i state anything stupid/repetative in this topic, just save/flame the newbie in my now so i wont be a dick later. XD
me and my brother both got a DDR pad for christmas this year, a damn good one too from what ive heard off DDRfreak: the RedOctane v.3 hard foam pad. unfortunately, i guess it was either borked out of the box or we didnt treat it right in the first couple of weeks (probably the latter) and now its not regestering any arrows, or its registering the bottom arrow being pressed 203 times a second. it probably didnt help that we played almost non-stop 8 hours a day (newbies gone wild :P)
now, 3 months later, its still sitting in the corner of our room broken, and the new cheap pad we got is getting busted slowly but surely. so its time to upgrade to a metal pad.
unfortunately, we dont know which metal pad to get. im looking at the TX-1000 right now, but after reading the review for the TX-1501 im getting the feeling its not worth it (mentions something about bad arrows, plus that site i linked too just looks...bad)
i was wondering if the pros here could help me out. are there any durable metal pads out there (under 200 dollars if possible) that could last being played on 4 or 5 hours a day? USB hookups is a plus, because now that me and my brother have discovered stepmania, we're finding it to be great practice for the arcade DDR Extreme.
i just need some good suggestions i suppose. thanks in advance, and remember, if im being a newb, flame away. :P |

Get a used Cobalt Flux.
You might go a little over $200, but it's worth it.
(anybody notice that i'm a CF loyalist yet?) _________________
