Hi, I'm new to this board and have some questions about soft pads. Right now I'm using my 2nd RedOctane Ignition 3.0 (my first one stopped working after a few of my friends pounded the hell out of it) but now my 2nd one is starting to fail, and I've only had it for a few months. Some of the arrows are randomly pressing even though I'm not stepping on them. Since this has been my 2nd pad, and $100 is a lot to spend on pads that a pad every time it breaks, I've come here for advice. I just bought a Vortz v9.0 wireless pad with a dense foam insert, sort of like the Ignition 3.0. I was wondering what some people have thought of it that used it?

As far as care questions, I'm wondering how to make this pad last longer than the previous two I've had? Maybe if I describe how I'm currently taking care of it, I could get some advice? For one, I share a room and there isn't much space to store it, so I stand it up and lean it against a table. Also, I've heard some people saying that it's bad to use these pads on carpeted surfaces but have been unable to find out why? If someone could help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I use the pad on avg. 2-3 times/wk. for about 1-2 hrs. on heavy. I only weigh about 160-170 lbs. so I doubt my weight could be wrecking the pad, but I could be wrong.

i hate to tell you man...
but the ignition is probably the best choice if youre looking for a dense foam type pad... but do what i do....

get a piece of particle board or plywood a little bit bigger that the foam...

then you trace the foam ontop of the piece of wood with a marker

then trim it so its the same size as the foam...

then just place it on top of the foam pad and insert it back into the ignition

it surprisingly helps alot if you know how to do it correctly

hope this helps
