I have become so bored with DDR, that I start playing songs on Sudden? I am not playing them on light or standard mode either. Playing songs such as Cant Stop Falling In Love(Speedy Mix), Holic, Kakumei, Tsugaru(Apple Mix), etc. on heavy mode.
I have become so bored with DDR, that I am starting to play songs like this. And the weird part is, I can't play ANY heavy song on 1x solo, without having Sudden on. Anybody else do this? And any ideas I can use to keep DDR fresh? Other than the stupid AA, AAA'ing songs. That is just REALLY boring to me.
Thanks

Well...isn't that kinda a goal all in itself? Just beating a song is all fine and dandy, but wouldn't it be enough of a challenge to get all AAs or something? _________________

Play around with doubles and quads if you have yet to do so (changed the game entirely for me). Pick up a copy of Konamix and play 6-panel (once again if you have yet to do so). And if you still are bored go to ITG. ITG will soon become a little boring. There will be songs you simply CANNOT pass without constant pratice. So, you start playing around with mods. I personally have been messing around with cross, alternative, and split. I can do those pretty well normal or revered. But center, or any of those mixed with center, screws me up so bad. |

I have ITG home version, it is a fun game, but playing at home is boring after 20 minutes. It is still the same concept, just harder songs with more steps, more difficult step charts, etc.
I have been thinking about trying doubles though. Only problem is our pads at our arcade, one works one day, the other works the next day. It is so horrible.
I know DDR is dying, I am one of the select few who still play frequently at my arcade, except for the new people who just got into. And they are advancing pretty well. A lot quicker than I did.
I have also tried AA'ing, and some AAA'ing recently. I just get bored with the concept of playing one song over and over again. And I have tried it on many other songs, Let the Beath Hit Em, Sexy Planet Oni, My Summer Love, Paranoia KCET, etc.
Thanks for the input.

Playing with mods is a great way to inject new fun into the game. Sudden+Shuffle is a lot of fun, or learning to play on reverse, 1x, etc.
Also, it really helps you become a better player. |

I have noticed it also. I played Cant Stop Falling in Love speedy mix on sudden, 1x, solo(not sure why solo), and I got an A. I was stunned. I normally get a B with it on 2x, solo, non-sudden. Also did the same thing with tsugaru apple mix. I actually got my greats down into the low 50 range. I still missed a few steps.
I just try to think of ways to make it funner again, or alot more fresh. Hopefully these things will help out somebody else.

Sudden's not as hard as people make it out to be.
Until I can AAA PSMO on shuffle, I won't be done with this game. _________________

This is true, but try it on shuffle, mirror, left, right. See how hard it is now.

You know what else you could try, and I'm sure other people will agree with me on this: how about another game entirely?
And not ITG or PIU either. That's not going to help if you're getting tired of DDR. Instead, try picking up an entirely different rhythm game for a change of pace. I'm lucky because my favorite arcade has 6 different Bemani games (8 rhythm games total). So I always have the option of say... Drummania whenever I feel like it. But if you can only play at home then you can still play Guitar Hero or something. Maybe you can import Beatmania or PopN Music if you can't wait for the new release of Beatmania in March. Since you've conquered DDR I bet you'd enjoy starting over with a new game. And it's not like you can't play DDR while you're playing another game.
(Or you could play something that is out of the rhythm genre entirely. Go get addicted to DQ8. You'll probably have the urge to play DDR again before you finish that game.) |

I have to agree with Catastrophe. I have DDR and Beatmania available at my arcade. When I feel burned out on DDR (happens more and more lately) I hop onto BM and play the hell out of that. Seriously, there are many rhythm games out there that are worth playing and are equally as fun, if not more at times. _________________

Probably about as hard as it would be on shuffle. left and right would cancel each other out, for a start, and I don't think you can use shuffle and mirror. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Except you can only put in one of those. Shuffle, Left, Right, and Mirror are all in the same mod line. Kind of like you can't put Sudden and Hidden on, only one or the other. _________________

I am getting guitar hero soon, and it's only for Iron Man, hehe.
Thanks for all the input also, and I know you can only pick left right mirror or shuffle at one time.
