every single post is "lololol you're an idiot if you think disney mix is worth more than $1" or "I offer $10 for your merchandise worth $10000" or some other asinine crap. Just imagine how much better the marketplace forum would be without him (until someone else fills the role of "eternal marketplace thread crapper" I guess.)

Banning is a bit too strong in my opinion. Atleast for now. But something does need to be done. He detracts from the selling of items by purposefully turning things into a fight or a joke. No business can be done when he posts. Please go to the appropriate lengths to ensure that he does not get away with what he does.

I dunno about banning, but I think he needs to start receiving points every time he subsequently derails the topic at hand or makes some snide comment about the seller or the items.

Is it possible to basically just ignore every post he makes in a given thread, and offer no response to it whatsoever?

I honestly don't know what kind of people post in Marketplace, since I very rarely even click on it.

I am all for this banning. People make topics selling things, it's simple. If you are not seriously interested in buying, then F-U-C-K OFF and don't post your uneeded opinion. And twen, if you ever post anymore horses-h-i-t in one of my topics again, i'm gonna teabag ya. laugh.gif

yes.

But would the marketplace forum be a better place without it to begin with? yes.

I can ignore a headache all day long, but I'm much better off if I do something about it.

Yes. But it gets to the point of trolling. It's like he posts just to shoot down sellers or buyers threads. He's inconsiderate and he out and out makes fun of people who have certain price askings.

It's discouraging and obnoxious, quite frankly.

How about they ban all of you retards instead?

WOW. Just WOW. I never said any bullshit about Disney Mix, I said that RO sells it new on eBay for $95, so it should be no more then $60-70 used.

And I'm assuming you think that a bootleg DDR Extreme machine is worth $10000. In which case, I offered $20, not $1. My $20 offer was only because there are about an average of 10 cabinet postings a month, and no one ever buys them, because...well, no one wants to buy them. Not to mention that it is indeed a bootleg. There are only about....7 fully legitimate Extremes in the US, and about 3000 bootleg Extremes. Just because it may have memory card slots does not make it a legit machine.

You sir need to shut up about these lies you tell others. I tried IMMEDIATELY paying you, with the PayPal you had LISTED with your eBay account, and it said that account was inactive and deactivated. You then sent me an email telling me to send the money to some other random PayPal account, one that wouldn't show that the item was paid for. I emailed you back, and you never replied. Just DROP THE SUBJECT. It's done, you got what you wanted out of the damn deal, people to be hating on me. Congratulations.

I don't purposefully do anything. Oh noes, this is the internet, and I'm George Bush attacking the DDR Freak Marketplace under false pretenses even tho I made the right decision....yeah, right.

Then you should have way more points for me for when I make a legitimate reply and then you bash me all the way to next year.

It's easy to say that, but you know some people just have to be elitists over the internets. But it's a good thing that you don't go into the Marketplace. I don't know why I do anymore. There's way too many rules about what you can sell, and no one sells anything good anymore. I highly recommend the Bemanistyle Marketplace instead if you're interested in buying anything.

...You would want to teabag me, wouldn't you. Sorry man, but I don't swing that way. I've been interested in many items, but people have to jack up their prices here more then eBay, so what's the point?

And you're obnoxious. Your point is what? This is THE INTERNET. Read my above comment about jacking up prices.

people keep sayone that no one ever prooves it

but every extreme ive ever been in here on the EAST COAST has had everything that a machine needs to proove its legit save for the shity xeroxed maquee it had

i suggest you and everyone else stop saying every ex is bootleg till you actualy pop up some kind of proof

also i know you enjoy shiting on threads and hate marketplace but thats not the place to do it go to the DDR sections if you must rove and post

That marquee is all the proof you need. Does it look a blurry and washed out like a photocopy, or is it bright and crisp? If your answer is the former, then there's a very good chance you have a bootleg machine.

Legitimate DDR cabs and legitimate version updates come with clean, factory-produced marquee and a screen frame specific to that version. Bootlegs ship with the photocopied marquee and never have the correct screen frame.

I've seen three legitimate DDR Extreme cabs in my visits to California. Only one lacked the screen frame, because it was an upgraded machine that had a quarter holder bolted to the front of it. The marquees looked fantastic. Every DDR Extreme machine I've seen on the east coast has had the washed out marquee, and the people who play on them recognize them as bootleg machines.

And don't bother saying, "I'll ask my arcade manager." He either won't have a clue, or will be dishonest about it because bootlegging arcade games is an illegal practice, no matter how common it is.

Nononono. you guys got it all wrong.

A legit machine, noted by the marquee, has an OFFICIAL Konami holographic sticker. It can be nice and glossy and still be a bootleg.

My 4th mix banner for instance, is real. The sticker is on the bottom left corner. If you want I can take a better picture of it.

Go to your local arcade and find that sticker. If it's not there, it's not legit.

and yet

a marquee is easy to change because the original got damaged or possible to KEEP it form being damaged

a bootleg marquee is not deffinitive proof of a bootlet disk or security cart

and yes my arcade maniger comes to ME for help with the machines BECAUSE he knows i know them better than he does

Possible? Yeah. Likely? Not really. Arcades are in business to make money by way of people playing the games. Unless the manager is a collector, he won't care about a marquee getting damaged. And if he is a collector, he's a liar, because true collectors of arcade hardware don't let their machines be used in public arcades. And he'd want some rare version of DDR installed on that thing, like MAX, not freaking Extreme.

And it's entirely possible to know how a machine works but not be able to tell the difference between "real" and "bootleg" software. Your arcade manager coming to your for help proves nothing, chief.

Case in point - my 7th Mix banner:

There's no reflection on it but it is glossy like a real marquee is, even though it's really beat up.

However! As you can see - NO KONAMI HOLOGRAPH. Thusly, it is a bootleg banner. Albeit a nice one.

Correct my friend E1.gif Looks nice, but is indeed a bootleg. Although, my 3rd mix banner IS legit, though it's missing the sticker... you can see where the sticker WAS.

on the bottom right, where the sticker SHOULD be, there's a bunch of KONAMI inscriptions in a diagonal pattern where the sticker was. No idea where it went, but when I got it, it was missing.

Wow. I've never seen a legit 3rd Mix banner that wasn't silkscreened onto the plastic header before. Nice!

The 4th Mix Banner I just bought on eBay is legit, I just realized that. It has the holograph on it.

EDIT: Pictures!

I also thought that our Extreme banner was legit for a long time, because there looks to be a holographic sticker in the lower corner of the marquee. However, I inspected it closer about two months ago and found that the holograph was actually the original sticker on the machine....it used to be a 3rd Mix with the banner silkscreened onto the header.

Well, because of that, Konami stuck the holograph on the plastic header, instead of on the 3rd Mix silk. So, when [the arcade] upgraded to MAX2 and then later to Extreme (which is how I got the MAX2 banner I have), the holograph was still on the plastic header.

Thus, it made the Extreme Marquee LOOK official, even though it wasn't.

So, if anyone is going to look on their machine for a holographic Konami sticker (to prove their mix is legit). Make sure the holograph is ON THE BANNER ITSELF, not on the plastic header that keeps the banner on the machine.
