Good thing DDR's only been around for about 7, then.

"Snide." And you were asking for it, raising a fit over one of the most insignificant aspects of DDR.

Firstly, and since you want to get buttocks-rapingly technical, Dance Dance Revolution has been around since the early 80's. Though it's far more advanced these days, it started back in bars and dance clubs. There were machines with 4 arrows and there was no monitor. The arrows on the platform lit up and you had to step on them. DDR Arcade machines and Playstation games in America have been around for probably about 7 years, but the Arcade and PS DDR versions were in Japan back in atleast 1995. And unless you were there , don't argue with me.

Secondly, I doubt you're a foreign japanese person, I'm doing my best learning English and frankly I don't think my spelling is that bad. Once in a while I do make a mistake, but forgive me for being human. Isn't that why pencils have erasers? And ... in what way is pointing out a typo I made prove anything or make the slightest bit of difference? You're rediculous.

Thirdly, I was not 'raising a fit.' (In case you failed to notice the entire post was not 'DDR SUCKS CUZ THEY TOOK AWAY MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!' I actually had a point, but apperently that went over your huge/empty pea-brained head.) I was dissapointed, as I'm sure many other DDR veterans were, that Konami decided to adapt the philosphy "Out with the old, in with the new." In any case, I have no idea why it matters to you so much what my opinion is. Get a life?
And to say that characters are "one of" the most insignificant aspects of DDR is simply incorrect.
There's two aspects/parts to DDR that I can recall:
-The Dancing part
-The Characters
Maybe I forgot another part of DDR that was on the first mix. Care to fill in a blank space or two? If you don't then that means you should have said "The most insignificant aspect of DDR." I'm only getting as technical as you are.

Like I said before, to say that characters are "one of" the most insignificant aspects of DDR is incorrect. Playing them more often can can help improve your Arcade skills when you have no choice BUT to play using a character.

We have arcade machines out here that force you to choose characters, and when you're playing a song like Legend of Max on Heavy, characters get in the way a bit and make it hard to see some of the arrows. So, getting used to playing with characters in the backround helps you get used to them, thus making it easier to see arrows. Therefore, characters aren't entirely insignificant.

Just because you don't like the characters does not mean they are worthless. There's millions of other people out there who enjoy having a personalized character that fits them or relates to them in some way. It makes the game more fun.

My previous comment stands as well. I still don't see why you care what my opinion is. It's not like you're going to change it, so just drop it. Sometimes in life you have to deal with people disagreeing with you. Life's hard enough, do you really find it necessary to whine/nag at, pick fights with someone in an online video game forum?

That's it, I'm done. This entire thing was rediculous. I only asked if Izam was in DDRE2. I got told that I was throwing a fit over it, because I was bummed out that Konami got rid of him. Yeah, I don't really care, I've always used Rage and Alice anyway. But still, I know 3 people that always picked him. Seriously, I wonder what it does to you to make you want to do that. Sit there all day on the DDR Freak forum and just complain about everything you can, read all the threads and study them just so you can find something to rag on or argue about. I'm done with this stupid forum, it's loaded with n00bs and I'd really rather not deal with a whole bunch of babies. It's for conversation, not ridicule, so shut your F U C K I N G M O U T H.

I won't be back. Next time I'll just read go to a FAQ. They don't pick fights for asking questions E10.gif Also, I know there's nothing you can say that will have 'merit.'

Heh...personalized character...If there's millions, then that means that there's like 1 to every 60,000 or something...

Anyways, if a topic gets locked, then don't repost it.

Lock requested.

How can you say that with such authority? In five minutes, I found two sites that I think prove you completely wrong. First- GameFAQs. Look at main listing for the first Dance Dance Revolution game. Release date: 1998. If you're thinking that listing may be incorrect because it's not Japanese, look at Konami's website for the first DDR arcade game. Notice the text on the bottom: "Copyright(C) KONAMI CO.,LTD. 1998 All Rights Reserved." The Bemani line was nothing more than a twinkle in Konami's eye, if even that, in 1995.
