Slim Version PS2 or Older PS2?

hey im buying a metal dance pad soon (TX-4000) and the Playstation 2 system. but i dont know which one to buy. i heard in one topic that the slim ps2 overheats if you play for a long time if you use the metal dance pad. which ps2 should i get if im getting the tx4000 metal dance pad.(the gamestop nearest to my house only has slim ps2s and i dont wanna order a older ps2 version unless the slim ps2 works fine with a tx4000)

I ve accidently left my slim ps2 on for like 48 hours, and it still plays perfectly fine. You should not have a problem with overheating

The slim PS2 is definitely worse in hardware quality, and there have been problems with DVD lenses burning and such, plus you can't use the internal hard drive. But if all you want to do is play pressed games (no backups), it should be fine.

Older ps2 is better in the long run, if you don't care for imports/backups or long play sessions get a slim one.

Yeah, thats what i like about the slim PS2, the flip top thing. It makes it much easier for switching the games.

I dont know much about the slim PS2, but I have an older one. I think it's great. I don't have overheating problems. I suggust the older thicker one.

Are you serious? I was thinking of trading in my old V4 PS2 for V12 Slim type because I thought V12 Slim could read better import/backup games. I mean, I could do the case modding and everything, but does it overheat a lot? Also does the DVD Lens wear out that much when playing import/backup [even with the best media such as Ritek]?

No, i really doubt that. That's way too easy.
I think you'd still havta mod the system in some way
i have the older system and my friend showed me how to play burned games with without a mod chip or anything life-threatening to the PS2.

Very true. I would recomend an Afterburner or Cobaly Flux. The txs have a bad reputation.

wasting cash on a TX4000? i heard the TX6000 and 4000 are good. user Need_Stamina had bought one and he says its working good for him. i think neworder purchased a tx4000 and he doesnt regret he bought it. also the RO AB has cbox problems and cracking panels. you cant buy replacement parts for the AB so once your warranty is up and your cbox starts breaking down u now have a useless dance pad. also the tx4000 and 6000 have metal panels so no cracking.the wires being cut can be fixed with solder/duct tape/electrical tape and you can buy replacement cboxs a www.videogamecentral.com so incase your 4000 cbox breaks down you can get another one.only the TX1000 and 2000 and other clones are crap. correct me if im wrong
also i cant get a CF cause its too expensive, ill just buy a tx4000 sheet metal mod it, buy and extra cbox, and make extra lexan panels incase in the unlikely event my panels crack.

i still dont think that the arrows are 100% durable, even though they are metal.
i still have the fear of them bending if too much force is put upon it, but i MYSELF dont havta worry bout that cuz im like 140 lbs(wuts also weird is that im like 6'2")

but thats besides the point
Im wondering that, JUST IN CASE a panel is bent or damaged to the point it is unusable, that you can get a replacement...
I havent seen a store yet with replacement metal panels...
