Okay, I was playing Max 300 on Stepmania for about the 20th time today trying to get it down so it would be easier to pass at the arcade when out of nowhere some little character or something slid in from the right side of the screen and said something in a high pitched voice... but I don't know what it was or what it said exactly because it slid back off the screen before I had a chance to break my focus from the arrows on the left side... it happened so quickly I kinda started to wonder if it happened at all! Did I just hallucinate due to a little too much Stepmania or did I trigger some kind of in game animation? Am I losing my mind!?!

nope, I have never seen that happen before.

Don't listen to Baggage over there, he doesn't know what hes talking about.

Take a break from playing, and rest your eyes, you wont see that little thing ever again!

I always know what I'm talking about. Whether it makes sense to other people or not is a different story.

When you achieve a combo of 250 perfects, a character comes out of the bottom right hand corner of your screen and says, "Toasty!" Why, I do not know.

In MK2 and 3, if you ever got a really crunchy uppercut (even I forget how) the little announcer guy would pop in and go "Whoopsy!!" Or something like that.

Holy God, you people really need to brush up on your old-school game playing. The "Toasty!!" sound effect happens after performing Scorpion's mask-removing-fire-spitting fatality (although he has two fatalities like this, the Toasty one is much easier to perform).
The "Whoopsy!" sound effect happens randomly. A guy will pop in from the right side of the screen and say it after an uppercut. However, the guy clearly says "Toasty!!" in SM, so this is irrelevant.

They're not the only ones that need to brush up, apparently.

It's "Toasty" in the random effect too. That's where Dan Forden's head pops out from the side of the screen to say it, and if you're fighting on the Portal stage, that's your opportunity to immediately end the fight and jump to a secret stage to fight Smoke.

Oh yeah - read the fucking stickies.
