That's right, cut it with the tobacco!

Whenever I see someone play, I can usually tell if they smoke or chew.

When it's my turn, they're like,"HHHey, you're pretty goood."
Geez, does that smell?? goog.gif

Also, you wonder why the person only does light, does synchronized love and says,"Man, I'm freakin tired!!"

While some of us do PARANOiA Survivor on Heavy, and only a little tired.

You all know smoking E8.gif causes lung cancer, heart disease, and decreased lung capacity, etc. (My grandma died, I hated it E12.gif )

And you all know chew, can cause gum disease, throat cancer, yellow teeth, etc.

The point is, why play DDR if you do tobacco??
Feel free to submit any comments.

Maybe they like smoking and don't care about the risks? What right do you have to tell other people what to do? This is America, the right to harm yourself is protected under constitutional law.

Hey Johnny smokes and he's AAA'd the game and can go through Legend Road without getting remotely tired - what were you saying again?

We all have different limits, dude. But I do agree that people shouldn't smoke. Last I checked, it doesn't do any good, so what's really the point? All it can do is harm you. But people don't seem to care... or something...

... is this really a DDR topic?

Meh. I smoke and I can pass all 9's, as well as Bag *rolls eyes* and Sakura w/o the bar. Not to mention that when I go to the arcade I play for an hour and a half straight (yes, I pile up my tokens and take no breaks - there's no one else there) at the minumum, lately when I go though I'll go for 3 hours. I love DDR. That's my reason for playing while being all hopped up on tobacco E10.gif

I've never seen anyone smoking around a DDR machine in the numerous locations I've played at. Nor have I seen anyone smoke and then play DDR. However, if someone wants to smoke and play DDR, that's their choice. I don't smoke and I don't like secondhand smoke, but if they enjoy it, then, like Kiba said, I really have no right to tell them not to do it.

I smoke, and I never get tired while playing ddr. I am a light smoker though...only one a day, or even every other day.

The only thing I really don't like is when the smell of tobacco is overpowering coming from a person. Like it's in their clothes, car, etc...I've got a friend that smokes and plays DDR, and when we play, he usually goes and has a smoke every hour of play. He's usually pretty clean about it, he goes and does it outside, sprays Binaca in his mouth afterwards, etc. I have no problems with it.

It doesn't really bother me when people smoke or chew, because hell it's their body let them distroy it how they want. However our arcade is a smokefree area. So I've never seen a person smoke whilst playing, nor have I ever smelled smoke on a DDR player in our arcade. *shrugz* Chew is a problem though because they constantly spit it in the trash like 5 feet from the machine. Others are trying to make it a tobacco free area so as to get rid of the chew in the trash and all.

I used to ask people i know that smoke why they even bother. Some of them do it to act cool, which i think is dumb. But others i know do it because it helps them relieve stress. Some of them have the pressures of school work, sports, jobs, and relationships and stuff, so they need something to help them cool off. Smoking helps them cool off.

No this isn't really a ddr topic, its just someone finding an excuse to make people stop smoking.

I'm a smoker...been smoking for a few months now, but I did start DDR before I even thought about picking up a cigarette...but the way you described in your first post kinda bothers me...I play heavy, and have been playing heavy for quite some time, and I can still AAA songs even though I've been smoking...

I play DDR cause I love DDR, plain and simple! Yes I smoke, and even though it has killed my stamina, as explained above, I can still take challenges and pass them without too much problem, just can't do anything above a 10 footer, but I couldn't do that even before I started smoking *shrug* I can't say much though, I'm trying to quit smoking just because I want my stamina back!!

No offence to your post, but really the only reason that smoking calms people down is because they end up taking deeper breaths to inhale the smoke. This extra oxygen actually helps relax and calm the body and I think the mind. So once again again, no offence just a lil' "thought you should know" fact.

Sigh, I thought I could escape all those stupid PSAs from T.V. here, guess not.

First of all, I can do max 300 with little to no problems.. and i smoke on occasion.

Second of all, If I wanted a lecture like this I could ask my mom.

No one is making you read this, just as they aren't making you watch the PSA. I mean it's not like someone tied your hands to the chair arms and cemented your feet in a bucket, then configured a device that would sever your spinal cord the second your eyes wandered from the computer screen. It's as simple as, "Hmm, topic about smoking... *skips topic* Next Topic!"

Unfortunately that is not a fact, or close to it. It is true that deep breaths relax you and are a factor, but so are the about (480) or so chemical relaxants in the average cigarette.

Cigarettes are bad for you but hating people who smoke is worse. Sure your breathe stinks but don't judge people based on their breathe, it's just annoying to see people judging smokers as bad people because of their habit.
