I just got my Ignition 3.0 a few days ago, and I'm having a bit of a problem.

When I first plugged it into my USB port, worked great. Second time, great. Today I was playing SMO for a few hours without a hitch. Now, when I go to plug the pad it, the computer recognizes the pad is there but it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" It's reading it as a USB Human Interface Device under the location RedOctane USB Pad, but it says it can't start. I've restarted my computer, I've unplugged and plugged the pad back in, but it won't work. Is there a driver somewhere I can download that'll fix this, or does anyone else have any suggestions?

Edit: I tried uninstalling the driver, rebooting, plugging the pad back in and a window comes up saying "New hardware found, RedOctane Ignition Pad" then a window pops up asking me to pick a driver.

Plug and play my rear end *grumbles*

Post this in the OFFICIAL Ignition v3 thread please. There you will get answers.

You shouldn't post and create new threads when this post belongs in an already existed thread.

And why is that? To conserve bandwidth? To keep topics organized? To reduce the amount of useless posts that are made, kind of like the one you just did and the one I have to make now in response?

I posted a new topic since it would get more attention then if I were to post it in the Ignition thread for it to get lost between the dozens of posts. I'm asking a legitimate question, not something that's worth rent-a-moding my butt for like, "Is the Ignition any good?" or "OMG I want this bad so bad kthxbye!!!"

Thanks anyways.

I imagine it's to prevent information dissolution than anything. That, and I believe (do not take this as the complete truth) that new posts require a tad bit more processing on the database end.

Maybe, maybe not. Forum-level, yes. Thread level, well, that depends on how many useless posts get put in the threads themselves.

You're right, he didn't need to do that. I'm sure a mod would have come along eventually.

Explain why you have to make it, please? Try and be precise, if possible--I teach college math and have a tendency to read things literally due to conditioning.

I didn't have to make this post, either. I could have just said, "There's an Ignition thread that you can reach through the 'START HERE' thread, or you could try the thread(s) regarding attaching console pads to a PC through USB or parallel ports.

However, attention's not always good, is it? I don't believe that you got the sort of attention that you're looking for. Also, this thread compounds the exact problem to which you're referring, albeit on a forum level as oppposed to a thread level.

That's not in question. It's the venue that is.

Most mods tend to dislike mod emulation posts.

You're welcome.
