You're doing just fine. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.

However, topics essentially asking "Am I Good?" are generally frowned upon, so keep that in mind in the future. Welcome to DDRFreak E1.gif .

here is a tip..never return to the middle panel. keep moving and even start on 2 random pannels. in example i start on the left and right panels when the song starts them move on from there almost never touching the middle unless i get desperate and slide* or loose my balance.

* sliding is when you slide from one pannel to another either to look like a badass or when you are in to much of a crunch to get to another arrow so instead of hiting it by lifting your foot you "slide" over to it.

another thing to remember is stay w/ the beat. unless the arrows come up a diffrent color then the rest and go to special bet (later in the game) always just stick to the beat/ rythem and you should get perfects.

from there it is mostly individual technique. like when i play i bounce arround litely grazing/ pressing the button while i see others slide and/ or do the conventional stomping. just remember that how you play at a higher level is how you play, it varies between everyone.

about going from one dificulty to the next; you should start on light and work throught most of the songs then challenge yourself. no one said not to have fun but w/ improvment comes the failure of songs. i.e. when i started i got good at light then did standard. of coarse i failed alot but over time i got used to the moves and started getting "B" and sometimes "A". i have ben playing for about a month and have made it almost all the way through standard.

one last thing. dont take extended brakes. it throws you out of wack.

Depends on what you mean by "extended"...even a half-hour break isn't too long.

-Practice crossovers (see ddrfreak dictionary), even in songs where you have enough time to double step (as long as it's logical for that step chart); it will come in handy later.

-Pace yourself. Don't do a whole bunch of hard songs in one set; you could deplete your stamina and fail a song you know you can do, but just don't have the energy for.

-Drink WATER.

-Make sure you're really holding down your freeze arrows...a lot of people NG them because they unknowingly release just a little bit of pressure half-way through.

-If you're confronted with arrows that are arranged in strage patterns (rhythmically), it may be better for awhile to rely on your eyes more than your sense of rhythm. Eventually, by watching, you will understand the rhythm more accurately.

-Watch people play on Heavy mode. Most of them know what they're doing. Especially watch the ones that move gracefully and have good rhythm.

You should adopt my style.

Get down on all fours and jump with your hands and legs as fast as you can.

Ok another good thing to do is to basically watch awesome people (like myself...sorta) play. You'll end up learning the rythmns and patterns quicker that way. Otherwise, it's all practice if you wanna break that Standard to Heavy barrier.
