It IS very shady. My thought is that since they didn't show a photo of the item or anything, they're just going to sell you StepMania with an ITG theme. They'll give you all the .DWI files for ITG but really, you could obtain this for free simply by looking around and going to stepmania.com

| My thoughts exactly. I would like to know who he has a "contract" with that allows him to sell free open-source games on the internet. Somebody needs to report him to the Stepmania dev team and Roxor. |

| The PC version is quite pointless if you already have Stepmania and the ITG theme, noteskins, simfiles, etc. |

If I remember correctly, You can sell stepmania as long as the buyer knows that it is open sorce and that it can be obtained for free. As for the skin and songs...BIG NO NO!

Its true. I talk to him on AIM all the time. We're pals. I alerted him of this so now hes investigating. and its Plaguefox. |

It's legal to sell free open-source games. Selling regular Stepmania (with no simfiles or non-open-source additions included) would be fine.
In fact, if it were not legal to sell a game, it wouldn't be open-source, because the open-source definition (and all open-source licenses) require that it be legal to redistribute the software by any means, including selling.
What's not legal to sell are the MP3s, stepfiles, background images, banners, etc. Those are not open-source, and it's illegal to redistrubte them in any manner, including by selling, without permission. So this guy's in trouble.
