Has anyone bought this pad? Is it worth the 35 shipped? its like an ignition pad but without the foam. it has raised buttons E4.gif im tempted to buy it.
Product Link: http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/44/VG-DDR-ULTX/
and does the BNS PS2-> USB Adapter work well with stepmania, and do u need to download mapping files? if so what r some good mapping files. sorry if this question is off topic, i was ignored in the USB adapter topic. i mainly want to know if the BNS Ultra-NX pad is good or not and if it'll last till christmas (when i get a CF E4.gif) but an answer about the adapter would be really nice E1.gif
PS: i use windows 98, if that info helps

Nx is cool for a quick casual inexpensive pad; but i havn't had one in a while been over 1.5-2 years since i had my NX. Mine lasted a good while, its fairly durable is certainly thicker than regular flshing pads. You won't be unhappy with it unless you are dancing fairly intense on it; as it does move around a bit, but it ain't too bad of a movement.
All in all, good pad but i would recoomend spending the extra couple bucks for the DX unless you want the NX for short term and casual use.

if you want to hook it up to your PC and have some fun, then NX is perfect. but if you want to play pretty often and want to get a bit more into serious then go with DX. Even if you do dance often the NX won't fail you completly, its just that i think the Dx is a more stable and a bit more responsive pad.

The NX is not a bad pad, i just think the DX pad is so worth the extra 25 bucks (unless your super tight on cash, then NX is definitly cool).

will this pad move a lot on something like Break Down on Standard?i dont feel like paying 25 bux plus shipping for a pad that moves on standard mode. Isnt the BNS DX a BNS Ignition? and i heard ignition pads last no more than a month so i dont think i want to buy an ignition pad.

well i had the BNS DX before... its kind of like the ignition, but instead of soft foam inserts, the pad uses hard foam inserts. of course ignition type pads will last longer than regular non-slip pads. i would probably give this pad a month or two before replacing it for another one.

so this pad will last for one or two months? how long will the BNS DX last. i hear ignition pads dont last long, according to the Redoctane Ignition 3.0 thread.
EDIT: this site http://www.akddr.com/reviews.shtml says the BNS NX is shipped poorly and the circuitry sometimes ripped due because its jammed into a small box and is folded wrong. i came down to these 3 pads to get that will last me till christmas
1. Official Konami Softpad (no idea how to get it)
2. Redoctane ITG Official Softpad
3. BNS NX Pad
i dont feel like spending 50 dollars on an ignition pad, after hearing about the crap Redoctane Ignition Pads im not buying any ignition.

i don't think the BNS DX pads are having all the same issues as the ignition 3.0. are right now, they are similar in design and are trying to take the same product level (high quality soft pad), but i don't think they are screwing up as much.

I had my DX for well over a year. so really 30 days is not something this level of pad should do (i havn't used the iginition 3.0 so i can't say much a bout it, but i know a lot of peeps may have problems with RO pad). my cousin has had a DX for some time now too. at least 4 months. so these things SHOULD be cool for a good while. i would spend the extra 20 bucks to be honest. in the worst case if it does fail quickly, send it back for replace.

all in all though, if you still don't want the DX, NX should be cool. it was my old school pad. don't know how much its chainged but htey are fun little pads and should hold up for more than a month. but again, i havn't seen or used an NX in a good while.

one more question, is packaging good for this pad. i hear if you buy a soft pad online the packaging will be bad(the pad will be jammed into a small box), and chances are the pad will be dead on arrival. does BNS USA ship their pads so they wont be Dead On Arrival

yea. from what i remember. packaging did seem a bit kinda weak sauce. but my pad wasn't DOA. and even if it is exchanges = free. if there is shipping damage you are someplty not responsibel for it (unless do something really stupid like you leave your sprinklers on for the FedEx guy to leave your pacakge and let the pad sit outside for 31 days).

I'd give there packaging efforts. C, but the pad itself an A-.

liek i said, if the pad is geniunly DOA, no matter what company and what product, you are fully entitled for a free exchange.

happy hunting.
