This is the official how to do steps for any song topic. Post what song your having troubles with and where in the song.

Personally: How can anyone do the step-jumps in Pandemonium expert, you have to move your feet insanely fast. Any tips?

You just take the time to do them. I think one of my friends just does them as gallops.

Hmm, well, I just can't seem to get a beat down at all on Anubis Expert about 3/4 of the way through, after the eighth-note jumps with all the mines. I see a whole lot of 1/16ths and 1/32ths in there, but it just seems like nonsense. I should probably just keep playing it, but any advice helps; I'm pretty sure I have the stamina to keep up with the steps. (just want to pass a 10)

I couldn't figure that part out at all for the longest time... Then I put it on 3x, and it all made sense. If you're playing on a slower speed, try cranking it up.

Do them as gallops, it works if you do it quick enough. That's how most people I know do them.

In Tell (Expert) and Pandemonium (Expert), I recommend treating the step-jumps as two consecutive jumps. I prefer to trade some percentage points for extra stamina in these songs.

Treating them as two jumps is one way to do it, but I generally find it better if I treat them as four triplet steps. Doing that, I'll usually get a Fantastic on the first step, a Great or an Excellent on the second step, and a Fantastic or Excellent on the jump. Doing them as two jumps usually gives me a Decent or a Way Off on the second step. Your mileage may vary.

I don't know if this is appropriate for this topic, as it's more of a reading issue than a stepping issue, but what can I do to learn to read the slowdown in Bloodrush? I can pass the song on C450, but on 3x I always lose it in that part. I suppose there would be two choices: Play more 1x and learn to read long streams better at low speed, or play the song on 4x or faster and learn to deal with everything else scrolling by insanely fast...

Try using like 5x mini for Bloodrush.

Most people here use 3x overhead or 4x hallway. No one here uses mini, if so it's mostly becuase of marathons or something. E15.gif

In Wake Up I always do the gallops by shifting my feet and double stepping instead of crossing over, even though I know I should cross over. I'm just wondering are the steps easy and cross overable throughout the whole thing or do you eventually have to double step?

Wake Up's steps flow perfectly if you cross everything over; no double-stepping or spinning to be found there. Make sure you don't switch feet on any of the gallops, and you'll be fine. Off-topic, but that's one of my favorite stepcharts ever. E1.gif

In Queen of Light (expert), for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do that stream of freezes without double-stepping, in which case I either break one of the freezes, or lose my combo.

I know there's some sort of spin pattern to them, but I cannot figure it out. >_>

I just do the DCB left/right march for most of it and you turn and do the march facing different sides. However, I rarely do that, and I just double step for my own good, as it helps my score for some strange reason.

I play flat footed and I rape the bar. I sort of get lower as I progress and play and I just sort of use that weight to shift on to my feet and his the panels with the balls of my feet. For the most part, I play more with the balls of my feet than my toes and when it's not that, I play flat footed. I do this, as I use the bar; it's sort of awkward for me to play with my toes while raping the bar.

Thanks, Baka. I'm going to have to study the stepchart and give it a try.
I can't possibly imagine how you do better DSing those freezes, but......eh... to each his own, I guess.

whatever works. >_>

I turn while holding the bar sometimes, but I have to end up DSing some of those turns sometimes nonetheless.

baka, when i said toes, i meant the balls of feet. as for the turns on QoL, i agree with you that the bar can help aton if you do it right. for practice do Exotic Ethnic except go one step farther like this l,d,r,l and stay at a 180 degree turn. it works until the end where i end up DSing.

This works everytime-I just COMPLETELY ignore those freezes and just do the steps how you would if they were normal, and if u let off late enough it will still give u a ok! E1.gif
