I enjoy DDR a lot but i keep doing the same things in the game and it's getting repetitive. I Play using Stepmania, have the sim files for all of the DDR games (i think). Though i just play single player every time and usually play the same songs. I have a good collection of songs i picked out from all of the various DDR games. It's not that i don't like the songs, just want to do something else. Any recommendations? Guess i could try one of the other modes. Have tried them before, and didn't think they were too fun, but that was a long while ago. What else is there fun to do in DDR besides single player? Playing with another player would be fun, but no one i know likes to play. Plus i don't really have the space for two pads in my room. Are people playing online against eachother yet? That'd be fun, if lag wasn't an issue. Just looking for some ideas, thanks. |

well u could mod a pad somehow, like u could move sensors so u dont have to hit then with ur feet. eg; butt, head, hands without having to forse ur body to do those kinds of bone-stresing movement. Just a thought... |

Try teaching yourself doubles. Or go to the arcade. Or make edit steps. There's a lot of ways to vary the game; I've had to learn, I've been piddling around the the same two mixs' since I started playing _________________

Try doubles or solo. You could also try some original stepfiles, or try making your own to whatever music you like. |

Like other people said, try doubles. I know that that's the one thing that kept me interested until I got around to ITG. You really learn to appreciate the quality of some of the doubles charts.
Otherwise, I know that, when DDR seemed to lose its excitement, ITG was a whole new world for me. Might wanna check it out . |

Throw in Modifiers. SM has tons of them. Try playing TLoM with big modifier on, you wont b bored. Also, the arcade is always good, some competition most the time. And i also agree with psisar, learn doubles. _________________

Freestyle. Come up with routines to songs you really like. Try your hand at doubles, throw in random modifiers. There's a whole other world out there aside from just regular single player. |

Thanks for the replies.
Is doubles where you play with two dance pads? I suppose i could mod another pad like the current one i'm using (you can see it in the Madcatz pad thread).
How long has Stepmania had online play? I didn't notice that. Is there some sort of "lobby" to meet up with others? I imagine it'd be hard to find others to play with otherwise. That sounds fun though. Does lag play any kind of factor at all? |

Yes. Oh, and a suggestion.
Edit a song in Edit Mode, on Doubles, not so hard that you can't do it, make it so it looks like an actual dance. Not just Two squares with Eight arrows. Put some pizazz into your dancin'. _________________

My vote is for freestyling as well. Suddenly, you can do a lot more with lower difficulties (instead of trying to PA 9+ songs, or something). _________________

My friend Daniel (Teh god of ddr as he's known here) played Afranova.....on Light. He was jumping on and off the pad, but, he was still hitting the arrows and it looked cool, and that's all that mattered. _________________
