Forum: Polls/deleting?

How come you don't allow normal members to start polls? At least let Basic members (if you can do that in the phpBB Admin CP, but I don't remember) or even allow everyone to start polls.

Also, how come you don't let members delete their own posts? It would make it easier for mods also because they wouldn't have to delete them or lock as many topics.

1) Dear God no. We used to allow all members to create polls. Then we realized that Communism was a bad idea and so we kept the power to ourselves. Seriously, every thread that was made was some dumb variation on a poll. I distinctly remember seeing "What's your favorite M&M color to eat after playing DDR?" as one. So that is why we don't let the average person make a poll.

2) Because then there's some evidence that it was there. I could easily flame someone, let it sit for a little bit and then delete it. True, I CAN edit the post and so the words are gone, but at least there's evidence I said SOMETHING.
