I have a Konami Soft pad (the one for 20$) and the inner foam of an old dance pad (peice of crap broke in 4 weeks frown.gif). Well, I'm on the top floor of my house and using just the foam and the pad makes a LOT of noise for whoever is beneath my room. Anybody know how I could mod my pad and get rid of all that noise from jumping?

Sometimes it doesn't matter how quiet the pad is, people will still hear you if you're jumping up and down onto the floor... try playing in the basement?

I have a solution:
Buy a normal controller. Don't open it for the circuit board or anything, just plug it in and play with your fingers. Nice and quite.

Consequently, it destroys the concept of the game. But the Parappa series is pretty much just dance dance on a controller, and it did well E15.gif

Most of the time, using a controller isn't enough for peoples' needs. I started playing DDR and ITG and quickly noticed that it helped me lose weight. You don't get these kind of benefits from a controller. Also, step patterns are more pleasing to watch on foot, and your skills are somewhat transferrable to the arcade. Quite honestly, I have the same kind of problems with noise. I, however, am now able to play in the basement of my house. My best advice is to step lightly, or find somewhere else to play. Sorry, but DDR isn't a quiet game if played the way it was intended to be played.

There should be a thread for the Konami softpad. Just start at that thread at the top of the forum that says, "START HERE."
