God I hope this is the right place for this? If not point me to the right place.
Anyways, Ive been making my own simfiles for a few weeks now. Havent really had any problems...Untill Now...I use Xstep to get the BPM and it makes the additionall 2 files that you need to go with the mp3. It has worked since Ive started..Now...Everytime I go and make some steps. Then use F11 and F12 to make sure the steps are timmed right. Then when I go and make the real steps and play it back. Some of the steps are right and then some arent. Keeps happening everytime now. What the heck is up??Thanks for any help and sorry if this was supposed to go under some other sticky......

First of all.. wow.. where to start..ok.
DON'T use Xstep. It isn't NEARLY as effective as using Mixmeist BPM analyzer and the Stepmania editor.
And I'd assume some of your steps are off because you're.. you know, putting the wrong steps to the music.. disgust.gif

Well I have tried using that program before and never figured it out. I have made several simfiles using Xstep and they work just fine. Its just all of a sudden, they dont sync right. I will download and try that program again and try somemore......Thanks for trying .....Later

Well....all that program does is find the bpm. It dont make the dwi files or anything....Its kind of useless. Maybe some other programs out there?

mikieson - You should really give stependous a try. Read the readme.txt included in the package. It's a heck of a lot easier to work than xstep. There's just one screen to deal with.

Oh, you want mediocre, auto-generated steps?
In that case, go ahead and do what you're doing.
What I was suggest is find the bpm with mixmeister, put that bpm in the .sm file, and using the stepmania editor, make your OWN steps.

Thanks guys...Im gonna keep trying differnt things. It seems if i put my steps on 16th and up. They seem to hit more. If I try and do 4th to 12th...They seem to get off just a little bit into the song. Well thanks guys...Peace out!
