XD, so anyway.

I've been doing a "nerd" camp this month, and one of their sponsors is Red Octane! I went there in hopes of finding 3.0's and ITG/SM, but....

They...had...2.0's....SUPERJOYBOXES...and......DDRPC.

What the hell, right?

So I asked the camp director if it would be okay (legal) if I brought in my two 3.0's and my StepMania with 327 songs. She said yes, as long as I dont hold iDTech or their company responsible if the pads break, etc.

So, just today, I was doing ROM-eo and Juli8 on Expert/Challenge, and while Toastying it happy.gif, the kid next to me said, "Wow, he doesn't even stomp hard on the pads!"

X friggin D.

I then roffled and told him you're not supposed to stomp, and ESPECIALLY not on MY pads.

Summary:

Dont stomp, plzkthx.

And here's the HORRIBLE cramped space where we DDR:

Question to thread author:

How long have you had your 3.0's, how often do you use them, what sort of songs do you typically play on them, and how do you store them?

Stomping on softpads is a waste of energy. They absorb your steps.

At the aracde or on hard pads, it's stomp or die.

I don't stomp on any pad, soft or metal to make any sound. They both read steps fine if they work well.

Sure you can step light on that. Just barely jump off the pad for it.

One of em: July 3rd, just traded in a broken 2.0.
Other one: April 29th.

If you couldn't already tell, from the videos, I do Heavy/Hard/Challenge/Expert songs.

Also, I store them standing up, in a 6 inch gap inbetween my bed and dresser.

THEY. WORK. FINE.

I swear, I dunno HOW everyone's 3.0's are sucking.

Although, I am getting some ghost steps from the damn kids stomping on my pads.

They're safe now though, hehe.

Oh good, that means I'll eventually be able to tape velcro strips to the underside so I can finally have a perfect setup.

When I'm at the arcade, I don't step hard at all. It's like walking on water...

I do not stomp...which is a difficult enough feat for me anyway since I play on my toes the entire time...

However, I do place enough pressure that it echoes rather loudly on the arcade pads. I would rather not, but it is difficult for me to practice PAing with really loud and obnoxious people/games nearby at our theatre.

Is it more sensible to play this way, where I can clearly hear my steps when I attempt to PA? Or should I work more off feeling? I have tried stepping so quietly as to make hardly any sound and on rare occasions, I have had good runs. Yet every AA I have gotten requires I sound like I am angry, despite not even attempting to stomp on the pads.

Oh, one correction. I am guilty of stomping during Let The Beat Hit 'Em. Whenever my PA sucks, I try to see how high off the pad I can jump in the triple jump sets. E10.gif I still land pretty quietly and softly then.
