Getting sick of the songs

Has anyone gotten sick of the same songs over and over?

I play stepmania on the comp, and I have all the mixes 1 through 8 (extreme). There are only really a handfull of good songs, around 10. I've played these same songs over and over and over. What do I do?

What do you guys do when you find yourself sick of the same songs over and over? It's not like there are new mixes that I can get...

I find myself with the same dilemma. Either take a break until a new arcade mix comes, or AAA everything. Since I cannot do the later, I have decided to take a break. Its up to you.

learn to like the step patterns in the songs rather than the songs. you just play the songs that sound cool, not the songs with good steps. i have recently been playing songs like " let them move", " on the jazz", and "i feel". there alot of songs out there that dont really sound all that great but when you play them they are really fun.

Yeah...I nearly quit DDR for this factor before we got an ITG machine nearby. If you have an ITG or PIU machine near you, you might wanna check that out.

Also, have you played all the songs, or are you simply claiming that the usual list of R&P, Cartoon Heros, Afronova and such are the only good songs? Not to label you as a beginner, though you are a beginner member, but if you are a lower level player, play a lot more and eventually, as said by xpguardian, you will come to like the steps to songs over their music. Either way, there are so many songs out there for Stepmania, go out and find some !

If you only like ten out of 300 or so songs from the major mixes, why are you playing in the first place?

Nothing good can come from this thread. If you're unhappy with the songs, do something about it. Play PIU or ITG, or write a letter to Konami explaining why you're unhappy with the song selection.

Besides, if you're playing Stepmania, just get one of the hundreds of good homemade simfiles people have made. DDR Foonmix (^^) is an excellent start.
