So, after 12 days my CF finally comes and I immediately start using it. I'm not doing great on songs. The pad is new, so I figure I'll give it some time. I don't feel physically like I need to adapt to it though, as it feels similar to the arcade and my last hard pad. I have the arcade mod so I'm having no trouble finding arrows on it. After playing for several hours though, I haven't really improved

What is happening is, I'm getting random goods and almosts. Sometimes a lot in a short period of time. Sometimes just one in the middle of a big combo. But they occur, and I know my timing isn't off. Take a song like R&P. I'm a pretty good player and I usually have about 2-3 misses on this song, and then usually on either the gallops or the fast steps on one arrow. I've full comboed and AAed it several times. On my CF though, now feeling fully used to the feel of it, I'll be going along just fine through the eighth note streams with all the crossovers. I never ever miss on these. I'll be racking up perfect after perfect and suddenly... a GOOD? and then it's back to perfects. Look, I have developed a very good sense of time in all my playing of this game, so much so that I can feel when I've gotten a great. And I can certainly feel when I've gotten anything worse than that. But now goods and almosts will just pop up even when I'm in training mode going along to the clicks and making an extra effort to get all perfects. After the last time I played R&P, I did the "check" option to see where my misses were. The first 80 or so notes (a continuous eighth note patterns were all perfects except for one almost right in the middle.
How does this make any sense?????
My timing couldn't just go to hell for one arrow and then be perfect again. At least it certainly could it without me feeling that I made a mistake.
I have yet to full combo any song yet on the CF. I always have several goods and almosts just as random as the ones in R&P. I normally full combo 7 and 8 footers about 80% of the time, and I have yet to do it in like 60 songs played on the CF, because of these goods and almosts that just pop up amidst the perfects.

At first I thought, well I'm just adapting to the feel of this pad. My foot is probably just hitting the sides or something sometimes. But then I realized, if I were actually missing the arrows, I'd be getting boos, not goods and almosts.

What the hell is going on here?

Did you loosen the screws? Probably not. Do it.

ok, i haven't tried it yet. But that thread is talking about random misses/boos. I'm getting almosts/goods. Like I said, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm not sure if its the same problem. I'll go loosen the screws and see if it helps

Ok so i loosened the screws a full turn each. Nothing
I loosened them 2 turns each. Nothing.
I loosened them 4 turns. I'm still getting a few random goods/almosts. The holes are so frick angled that the panels aren't anywhere near the tops of the screws. I have the arcade mod, and I can hear the brackets clanking when I step on an arrow. Now the arrows are so loose, it feels just like the poopy pad I used to have. Am I missing something. Because right now I'm wondering why I paid almost 400 dollars for this thing when it's performing as well as the pad i paid 70 for.

I fixed the problem!!!
It, wasn't the screws. I went ahead and tightened them back up to near where they were before. The problem was the other buttons on the pad. Apparently, until you turn off the dance play setting, when you hit these other buttons, it registers as an arrow and results in greats/almosts. I changed the setting, played Rhythm and Police and ended up with 400 perfects and 20 greats. I love this pad E1.gif
