...is kinda cool! It's only about 5 minutes long, and it basically covers everything that you find yourself shouting at new players: "Quit going back to the center!" Check it out sometime when you're recovering between 11+ footer attempts.

^Yikes, caps lock.

I personally like seeing emoticons and such. I just don't like how it doesn't cover mines and hands (I don't have the PS2 version, I just saw a video of a guy named Oko doing it)

Yeah, the smiley kinda made me laugh, actually. But yeah, I see what you mean about the mines/hands...maybe they should've added a second part to it for the people who weren't first time players, to cover those things plus holds and whatev.

Grammar = what does this sentence mean?

The happy.gif at the end is icing on the ideomatic cake of tutorialism.

I tried Tutorial once at the arcade, but I could not for the life of me find the Fantastic window. If it gave me a grade, I would have got 80-something Percent =-(

The tutorial is for gay kids who dont know how to play. Nobody is gonna buy ITG, unless they already know how to play.

That gets my vote for stupid post of the day.

The ITG Tutorial is really quite good for people either new to the dancing game genre or for people who have recently started. I'd be more fond of it, however, if it didn't reset my mods.

Everybody starts somewhere. There's no reason to think that a new player won't start with ITG, especially if he/she knows somebody that plays it.

It's useless to a lot of people here though. They play it and see that there's so much reading and leave. Stupid people.

So I just give up on their game and get their last two songs for random 10/11 playing. ;D

Your machine set to 4 songs or something? Cause Training takes 2 songs E10.gif.

As are the Novice and Beginner steps, yet nobody says they're for "gay kids".

Our machine is $1 for 4 songs with joint premium slash double premiums on. So E10.gif I AM THE CHAMPION.

Don't make me have to pull out the post on the Mid-A forums that talks about the machine that was set at $.75 for SEVEN songs. :-P

I never saw anyone do the Tutorial at the arcades (although I saw plenty of people who SHOULD have done the tutorial and therefore bombed their first song because they didn't).

When I got the PS2 version I watched the tutorial to see what it was like. It was okay, and covered a lot of territory, but it didn't include very many steps at all, so I'm not sure how much benefit a new person would actually get out of it. I think there were only like 30 steps in the entire thing.

ITG's tutorial covers some things that DDR Extreme US PS2's Lesson Mode doesn't, but DDR's is a lot more comprehensive in general. I started out with DDR's lesson mode and spent a week in it before trying anything else (I did each the final full-song challenge of each Lesson Mode section until I could full-combo them 95% of the time).

By the way, has anyone ever seen an ITG arcade machine where Tutorial was a fourth option on the mode menu (Tutorial/Dance/Battle/Marathon) instead of just a song on the songlist? I only saw one machine like that (in the Fort Worth area); is that a setting that can be configured by the owner, or was it a different version of ITG?

I wouldn't want to play on a machine set for 7 songs...turns would take 15 minutes or MORE!

I remember when a local nickel arcade first got DDR a long time ago. They had it set for 20 cents/4 songs. We actually requested that they LOWER it to 3 songs, because the lines were too long! The first Friday after they got it, there were about 15 people there.
