First of all, this is NOT a tutorial on how to make a soft pad like an arcade pad..
And so we move on to why I made a thread
I've been looking at the softpad modification options and decided to make some 'alterations' to the one that I think is somewhere in this forum. It was that one where you attach the pad to a peice of plywood, stick cardboard under the squares, and lay some stuff over it (I haven't really looked at it in detial).
What I want to do is get a GOOD softpad, one that will last awhile, and mod it so it gives the feel of recessed panels. Yes, this is pretty desprite but I am tight on money, so i guess it's my onlt option.
I was thinking of Setting it on plywood and having THICK crardboard under the 4 corner spots and the middle spot. I'm going to be thinking about it more in depth tonight, maybe there is a better way to do this.
I'm thinking it'll be like: Get a softpad, get a big peice of plywood cut and maybe even 5 little peices instead of cardboard, packing tape, and whatever it is that goes over the top of the softpad, I might have problems with the whole 'recessed panel' thing with that though. I also need to know which softpad in people's experiance that has the best life. I'll be using this A LOT. Also, if I get this all done I'll post up a tutorial.
Any suggestions?
