Roxor and Andamiro have officially announced their partnership to release their collaborative effort, Pump It Up: In the Groove 2. The official release on the Roxor Games website mentions the new Andamiro cabinets and discusses the returning features, not the least of which is the inclusion of all 71 songs from the original ITG release, and the newer features (such as freeze rolls) and modes (such as Survival). Also, DDR enthusiasts will also recognize a pair of songs in this new release: "Bumble Bee" by Bambee and "Sunshine" (formerly "Follow The Sun") by Triple J.

I knew there was a reason I wasn't in bed 2 hours ago when I should've been. E1.gif Now I just have to manage to get up in 4 hours. Ugggggggg.

If anyone wants details on ITG2 from someone who's been beta-testing it, leave questions and I'll try to get to them this weekend. It's a little busy for me, but I'll do what I can. Thanks.

I bet Andamiro makes a pimpin' cabinet. I don't know about the Pump it Up name being attached to In the Groove though, it seems pretty bizarre to me peoples.gif but hey, you have to give credit where it's due. And that big screen makes me drool drool.gif

So Roxor is making partnering with Andamiro?
The enemy of my enemy is my friend?
It will at least keep konami from being complacent and feeding us repetition.

I wish them all the best, Konami, Andamiro, and Roxor. Competition is alway healthy.

Christ man, you're awake too? We should go hit up Electric Avenue.

Maybe having the name Pump it Up on ITG2 will attract Pump players. I doubt it though.

If it will keep the 5 arrow style from pump, I have no problem playing it. Now if any arcade around here will get it is another story. E2.gif

So this is a new ITG mix and not a new PIU mix?

There's now a new type of step: freeze rolls. They resemble freeze arrows except for having a very spiky look to them, and require you to hit the arrows every 0.3s (equivalent to quarter notes at 200 BPM) in order to not get a Bad from them (they count as freezes). From what I saw, these are used sparingly and in good taste.

Yippee for RoXoR and Andamiro's new venture. Their ITG 2 machine is slated to come this weekend or next week to my local arcade. E4.gif

I'm just guessing but I think this means people can buy an old PIU machine ($1,000) and upgrade it to ITG with a pad and kit... I mean if you think about it getting ITG2 spread without those boxor units for DDR machines is going to be extremely hard with the new machines costing $9,999.. so an upgrade for a PIU machine instead of a DDR machine would work since they are reasonably priced unlike DDR cabinets.

A freeze roll is a new type of arrow that looks like a spiky freeze. You have to hit that arrow every 0.3 ms I believe it was.

Correct. It's always been called "In The Groove 2". Andamiro is producing the cabinet, and I guess that their way of being compensated for their work is for them to be able to attach the Pump It Up name to the arcade game.

It gives RoXoR the ability to produce the game more legalistically (as it now has its own dedicated cabinet) and it also give Andamiro more of a hold on the American Dance Game market, especially considering that people tend to be more familiar with the DDR-esqe layout that ITG has.

It's a win-win situation for RoXoR, Andamiro and the people that play ITG.

Cheapass? I've always liked PIU bars better than those ragedy DDR bars that you really can't do anything with BUT hold on or do a really lame Matrix walk...

Yeah thats correct bar usage... know your bars before you bash them E13.gif
