|
|
Im taking a speech class and we have to present a demonstrative speech and I was thinking about doing mine on DDR. I was wondering if anyone else has done this for their speech class.
I am looking for some ideas to start writing it since it is due on Monday.
Thanks a bunch! |

I remember when Sega CD came out, i did a speech on it. the biatch teacher took points off for having the Sega Logo flying around on the TV Screen during the speech section of my report. For the demonstration section I played a racing cartoon game, not too much unlike how dragon's lair worked.
anyway, that's my only thing,, might get docked points if something distracts audience from your speech.
good luck. will u be nervous in front of class and fail a song by mistake? hehe |

Cool, i did one on ddr just this past year. i did it on "the basics and benefits of DDR." i could PM you my outline if i still have it as long as you PROMISE to look at it just as an example.
ya and dont get nervous and fail. that would be bad. But what would be better is if you have EXus, get one of your classmates that have NEVER played DDR and put it on beginner and let them play. i think it would kinda get bonus points for audience adaptation. _________________

Yeah, thats what I was thinking... i think i'd pick someone out of the class to try it. If I could see your outline that would be nice. I PROMISE you I would look at it only as an example.
The only thing im wondering is how and the hell would I set it up since theres no TV in the room and only a projector. Maybe I could just explain it with a video or something. I wouldnt want my DDR pad to get demolished. |

Yeah, maybe bring in a small 12" T.v. and cords. If all else fails, print some DDR screens onto the display (clear) screens for the projector. Sure to get a huge audience response. _________________

I've done persuasive speeches as to why building your own DDR pad is better than buying one. Of course, I also did one on why subbed anime is better than dubbed, why pink is cooler than yellow, and other random stuff. I got an A when I took the course, so it must've worked. _________________

i think you should use the edit button. anyway. is this a slide projector or a tv projector? if its a tv projector, then you should have no problem hooking your PS/xbox up to it. if its a slide projector, find a tv somewhere else in your school. Or you could show a video, but keep it short. no whole song footage. that will get boring to non-ddr'ers. unless maybe its a freestyle video, but still dont show the whole song, just the best part.
i will PM you my outline. there is no way of knowing whether or not you copy the outline or just use it as help, so im trusting you. There are copyright laws that will get you in BIG trouble. (learned that the semi-hard way.) so dont copy. _________________

Thanks. I took a look at it and its basically how I have written mine so hopefully mine comes across well.
Anyway, the projector is hooked up to a VCR and such so I might just record a video and explain what is going on as it plays... Still not sure about that part. |

if its hooked to a VCR, then you should be able to hook your PS up to it. if not, you should really find a TV that you can hook it up to so you can get some audience involvment in it. _________________

I'm assuming ur teacher has a computer in the room, well if there is, just demonstrate how to play DDR using a keyboard with Stepmania or buy a usb adpater and take a dance pad. Its a lot better than taking a PS2. |
