I bought a cheap $20 dancepad about 1.5 yr ago. It wqas OK for the first year, because I didnt play it very much at all. Now a friend has joined me in my quest for dancage and I am stepping up to the lighter heavies and the difficult standards on DDRmax2 and DDRextreme. One problem: my pad sucksorz . I don't want to spend $90 more to buy a smurfing awesome pad. I want to spend less than 10 and mod my current pad. Here's my existing materials:
-the above mentioned dancepad
-Thick foamy insulation (a lovely pink color) that's not the fluffy kind people.
-a lot of wood
-a new roll of duct tape
-cardboard galore
-willingness to spend about $11 max on supplies
Does anyone know how I should mod this pad? I might want to make a custom cover too =P. Please help me, I want to be able to school my friends in DDR with my Smurfing Awesome Modded Dancepad. |

i have an idea...didnt do it the exact same way tho.
is your insulation a big solid piece, like all the RO ignition or knock-offs?
if it is, measure your pad out, (id cut the insulation about 2 inches bigger so u dont slip off and hurt yourself, but if u dont have enough then dont worry about it)
i used double sided duct tape (pretty expensive) and use that to attach the insulation to the pad.
thats all i did, and it still slid around a bit, so u should get about a $5 chair grip thingie (the chair stuff for computers that has the spikes in it, usually clear)
attach that on the bottom of a piece of wood (like 1/4" plywood oughta work), and then tape, or somehow get the wood connected to the foam
that would REALLY be nice to do, but i went ahead and just made my metal one
if u need help or whatever AIM me
PS, if u do make this, get pics so i can see , and tell me how it works _________________
