Alright, I know that absolutely no one will care, but I just had to post this somewhere
I just graduated from high school, and after the graduation, the school held a senior party for whoever wanted to attend, with games, food, and stuff like that. I planned to go there for a while and then cut out and do something else. When I got there however, I remembered that my buddy was going to bring his Ultramix 2 there, and I saw some big TV with four pads hooked up, with some people playing it, all on...horrible....MadCatz pads. I was disgusted and went home and got my Ignition foam pad which had been retired earlier (bought a CF), and hooked it up and played a few rounds, had some fun, etc etc. Later on, I learned there was going to be a tournament, and first place was $100 cash.
Six people signed up for the thing. Three people who had never played before, one of my friends who does 5-6 footers, and my other buddy who does 6-7 footers. Personally, I'm not very good at all; the best I've ever done is get an A on End of the Century Heavy, so I was anxious to hear the rules...
The rules were -- Single player on my Ignition pad, 321 Stars was the only song we were to play. We all did Light mode, and the top 4 moved on to Standard. Then, the top two moved on to Heavy. I felt sorry for my friend when I A'd the thing on Heavy and he stepped up and then D'd it, but we were all good sportsmen
Needless to say, it was the easiest $100 I have ever made and just one of the many times I've been glad to play this game, and that's my dumb story. |

Why was 321 stars the only song you were allowed to do? |

Yep, just as I thought, but that $100 in my pocket makes me feel better
The money came from the parents of most of the seniors in whatever generous donations they could offer, and from the school. I was wondering that myself, until I asked about it.
Why 321 Stars.....I really do not know. I guess it's "fun" sound ensured that no one would possibly be offended, or something. |

I wish my school would throw some tournament knowing I'm the only DDR Freak there I would win hands down! I think that would be hot for your school and dumb to us. Oh well. least you won. _________________

Yeah, no kidding...
The judge laughed her buttocks off on the very last stream when the song rambles off that line (does it say "stars" at the end, or what?). I did it crossover-style to make it look professional |

Me and my friends held a mini-tournament, on light around December...the whole thing was Light..
So I acted like a noob, coming a few greats from losing in the "Semi's"
Then totally wailing on my friend in the finals and showing off afterwards, doing like Afronova AA*. _________________

Yo, DemonHybred finally caught ya. There was a mini tournament at a local GameStop a while back I went to. This was acually what got me started playing DDR cause I never played before that time. The tournament was a Light mode and the game was MAX2 for ps2 so I won with Tsugaru, I Was The One, and Break Down! all on Light. Got a B average but still not bad for a first timer. The prize was the game and one of those crappy plastic pads. This was before I knew about or even the release of the Cobalt Flux. Oh and $20. |
