*Points in the direction of DDR's Songlists and Codes section* The answer you're looking for is over there.
To summarize, though, the DDR GB games came out at the height of DDR's popularity around 1999-2000, so they have a mixture of songs from those games. DDR GB1 has mostly songs from 1st-2nd Mix, with a couple from 3rd. DDR GB2 has songs mostly from 3rd Mix as well as some interesting selections from DDR Solo, and DDR GB3 is mostly composed of 4th Mix songs, with a few from 3rd and Solo tossed in again. Regarding whether or not to buy them, I wouldn't. Konami did not do a very good job scaling those songs down to 8-bit form. Some of them are completely unrecognizable. AM-3P, for example, sounds nothing like the original version. There are a couple other DDR GB games that I've never played- Disney Mix and Oha Sta! I've never been able to find those ones, though. o_O
*Edit*
Oh yeah, regarding whether or not you'll need any import conversion device, the answer is, oddly enough, no. Region lockouts have never been implemented on GB, or GBC, or even GBA. Neither do the PSP or the DS. |

I dont know about the DS, but I do know that the PSP DOES have region code blocking. If you read the box that it comes in it says sumthing like "compatible with region 1 or region ALL games only." |

DDR will not come out on PSP. DDR's GameBoy versions were crap, musically and gameplay-wise, and they learned from their mistake. DDR Dancing is silly enough, let alone DDR Dancing with your fingers. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

You don't need a japanese GameBoy. There is no region locking on any handheld except the PSP. _________________

I have DDR 1, 2 and 3 for GB. They were fun for a few months but I got bored with them. If you can get the games for a good price I would consider getting it if you really like DDR. Just don't expect it to be like the "real" versions of DDR. It also helps if you are familiar with how the song really sounds or else the music will sound even worse than it is on GB. |

I don't see what's silly about either of those things. As long as its fun and harmless (and it is), I don't see why its silly....
Don't get DDR for Gb. It's not good... not even good enough of satisfy you for a desparate portable round of DDR. |
