If all notes from every song in DDR were tallies up, which arrow do you think would have been pressed the most? I am guessing "down". That's what usually breaks on my homepads.

Yeah, my down is messed up too....I would guess down, that's the one people stomp to try to get it because they can't see it like they do with the others.

From some rough WhatPulse stats, Up gets a hell of a beating in StepMania.

Wah, if I have WhatPulse running while playing stepmania I get this massive lag because it can't count as fast as I'm hitting the keys or something.

I'd say down is most used. I don't think stepmania would be a good judgement of it because stepmania offers a lot of music that isn't DDR related. Just a wild guess from arcade time though, down gets used a lot.

The right arrow at the arcade that i used to go to gave me 6 random misses on Exotic Ethnic ex. stage. It failed me right when i got the 6th one, and it looked really funny with 0 greats.

Agreed. The down arrow seems to have shut down on my pad first (sort of; I won't explain). My guess would have to be the down arrow.

i dont really think having a pad's arrow out be a sign of number of hits it has. I think that just shows that you hit the arrow too hard or the overall quality of the pad

True, but it could very well be due to frequent use.

Well there is there are chances to both ways, making the "experiment" have too many variables. So making the the conclusion on the quality of the pad isnt very accurate

It might actually be the right arrow. Most down arrows probably die first because a lot of people play sort of over the down arrow most of the time. It gets stomped on more times because some beginners and advanced players alike have issues hitting it correctly, so it gets bashed in an attempt to hit it correctly.

The down arrow was the first arrow to break on my pad. It's also in crappier shape and has more duct tape on it than the rest. E10.gif
